Game 1: Vertex v. HG Coal Fire Pizza

Another rough outing offensively for the pizza guys. Brenden Parker singles home a run in the 1st, Matt Messinc triples home a run in the 5th and Adam Hebert with the fielder’s choice rbi. Three runs on 8 hits on the night. Definitely proved to not be enough.
The production from CJ Snyder from the 7 hole was enough to win the game. CJ had 3 hits, scored 3 times and drove in 4. (He homered in the 3rd). Keith Crowell and Matt Schaub also homered as Vertex scored 23 times. Easy victory for the V crew, 23-3.

Game 2: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Vertex

Vertex looked to sweep the twin-bill on the night got great production from Matt Schaub in the 12 spot of the line up. Matt drove in 6 runs in 3 AB’s which included a 5th inning grand slam. Jose R finished with 3 hits (2 doubles) and scored 3 times. Vertex with 16 runs for the game.
Mike’s struggled early on and put on a ferocious rally in the late innings. Dave Shannon drove in 5 runs in the 5th and 6th innings alone which included a key 3 run homer in the top of the 7th. Mike’s took a lead in the 6th, surrendered the lead in the bottom of the 6th, plated 6 in the top of the 7th to take a 2-run lead but have up the game when CJ Snyder singled home the winning run for Vertex. Two big errors in the inning by Mike’s gave the game away. Vertex walk off, 16-15.

Game 3: Ballz Deep v. Team Horsham

TH playing like a much improved team as of late, but it didn’t carry over into this game. Just 6 hits in the game producing one run. Eric Lane doubles home a run in the 1st inning. Needless to say, this game was lost.
BD drew an unbelievable 12 walks in the game. With key hits from Jarrett Kerns (2-run homer in the 2nd) and then a 2-run double in the 3rd…BD took an early commanding lead and never looked back. In the end, BD 21-1 mercy game.

Game 4: Ballz Deep v. Philly Junk

Ballz Deep faced much stiffer competition in this one and played well. Jarrett with a solo shot in the first and Joe D scored in the 2nd after his single. The 4th inning was a good one as they pushed across 5 runs on 7 consecutive hits. BD with 7 runs through 6 innings.
Philly Junk always to the task…get an early run by way of multiple BD errors. In the 3rd, Philly got to work with multiple hits which included the always clutch Mike Bitterlich smashing a 2-run homer. KC Ingram drove in 2 with his double and Mike Testa cleared the bags with a triple. Phillly pushed 7 across. Mike would triple home 2 more runs in the 4th inning giving them an 11-7 advantage going into the 7th.
Jason Falcone and Gene Walczak both drove in runs in the 7th for BD to cut the lead to 2, but they ran out of chances. Philly hung on to win 11-9.
