Post by latincontrol »

Game One: Sons of Pitches v. Toto/Kiefer

Sone of Pitches plate 5 runs in the 2nd inning thanks in large part to 3 infield errors by the Toto/Kiefer crew. Blasé Contino drove in 2 in the inning with a single. Jerry Murphy singled and started a small rally in the 4th inning as SOP plated 4 more run to finish with 9 for the game.

But a steady and consistent offensive attack basically ended this game in the first inning. The Toto/Kiefer crew had 10 in their line up and they sent 21 men to the plate in the first inning alone. Chris Hack doubled and tripled in the first, Jon Poore had 4 rbi’s already in the first, and 6 of the 10 hitters in the line-up scored twice in the first inning alone. Ryan Goodman highlighted a massive 8-run 4th inning as the Toto/Kiefer crew won easily, 24-9.

Game Two: Beers v. Horsham

This game was also a blow-out in favor of Beers. Jarret Prendergast had a 2-3 night which included 2 runs and 2 rbi and Nick Cenivivia also had a 2-3 night with 2 runs scored. Horsham plated 8 runs for the game.

Beers’ Phil Marks had 4 hits and scored 5 times and Rider Kaleck drove in 4 battng out of the 10-hole as Beers’ offense exploded. Ryan Calabo also drove in 4 while Matt Kare and Alox Golgberg ech scored 4 times. Beers went on to score 29 runs and take the game easily.

Game Three: Slurricanes v. Mike’s Bar & Grill

Slurricanes needed just the 2nd inning to really take the game. Sending 3 men to the plate, all but one got a hit in the inning and all but 2 drove in a run. Chris Keeler’s 2-run double was the highlight of the inning.

Mike’s attempted to rally late scoring 7 times in the final two innings. While too little too late, Dave Shannon’s rbi triple in the 6th and Eddie Haddle’s 2-run single in the 7th were the highlights that made those rallies possible. Rob Gilligan had himself a 5-5 night with 2 runs scored and 3 rbi. But the game went to Slurricanes.

Game Four: Vertex v. Just Food

This game was pure domination by Vertex. A combination of good offense and poor opponent defense led to Vertex plating nearly 30 runs. Dave DeStephanis was 4-5 with 3 runss cored and 2 ribbies, Keith Crowell had a triple and 2 runs driven in and Tom Eggito scored four times. Vertex scored 27 times.

Just Foods’ big inning came in the 3rd when they plated 6. Peter Fiuteri doubled home 2, Mike Casbaur sngled home 2 more and Dave Iatarolu smashed a 2-run homer. Just Food scored 4 more in the 6th, but not nearly enough to win this game.
