Game One: Slurricanes v. Pitches Be Crazy

Sean V. gets a nice 2-run double in the first inning helping his squad with a 3 run inning. Sean continued to produce in the 3rd, this time with a 2-run boms which helped plate another 3 runs. Sean then continued in the 4th, this time an rbi single which capped a 5 run inning. Tyler Forest added a 2-run triple while Jean Mike scored 2 times. Slurricanes plated 12 men for the game.

Pitches Be Crazy used a nice 7-run 3rd to stay in the game. Doubles by Jeremy Adams, Brian Hughes and Chad Wood led to a combined 4 runs driven in with Chad credited with 2 of those. Sal Gomez later drovein 2 more with a single. After that 7 run outburst, PBC would not score again until the 7th as they mounted a rally. Down 12-9, Brian Hilbert singled home 2 men to bring the game down to just 1 run needed. But the rally fell short and Slurricanes hung on to win 12-11.

Game Two: Toto/Kiefer v. Just Food

The Toto/Kiefer offense was back at it again. Jon Poore had a monster game going 5-6 hitting for the cycle, scoring 4 times and driving in 4. Chris Hackney also had a niec game from the lead off spot, going 5-7 with 3 runss cored and 4 ribbies. Mike Brownie was not outdone as he went 5-6 with 4 runs scored and 3 ribbies. This squad finished with 29 for the game.

Just Food unfortunately could not keep up. Dave Latards was 3-3 with 2 doubles and a run scored & Connor O’Keefe continued to produce this season this time with a 2-3 effort which included a triple, home run, 2 runs scored and 3 rbi. Just Food scored just 7 and lost big.

Game Three: Beers v. Mikes

Well, we almost ran out of scoresheet on this one as both teams combined to score 47 runs. Ryan Calabro, hitting out of the lead off spot for Beers went 4-7 with an amazing 8 rbi. Ryan Whiteley, hitting in the 2-hole…scored 5 times. Ryan Mailet, the 3-hole hitter was 6-7 with a home run and scored an amazing 6 times. Phil Marks also scored 6 times and Connor Macfarlane with the monster game…check out this line:
5-5, 2 walks, hit for the cycle, 5 runs scored, and 8 rbi. Beers scored 39 times.

Mike’s John Blando was 3-4 as was Jimmy Cooker. Jimmy with the 3-run homer in the 3rd. Nick Perez stayed hot with another 3 hits, 3 runs scored and 3 ribbies. Slawomir Kawa was also 3-3 with 3 rbi…all helping Mikes plate 18 for the game. Usually 18 runs may do it for you, but with the opponent more then doubling up your offense on the night, 18 runs scored for Mikes, but they lost by 21.

Game Four: Vertex v. Horsham

Vertex got on the board quickly with a 5 run first inning. The inning was highlighted by CJ Snyder’s 3-run homer. Dave DeStephanis walked and scored in the 2nd off of Keith Crowell’s rbi single and Tom Eggito drove in the team’s 7th run of the game with a single in the 6th. A usual vaunted offense held to 7 runs, but nearly enough.

Horsham, got a run in the 1st with Zach Pendergast’s solo bomb. Singles by Vic Patalino and Allen Pendergast led to 2 more runs after they each scored assisted by an error and a Zach double. Casey Saverio singled home 2 more runs in the 5th helping Horsham stay in the game, at this point trailing just 7-6. Final at bat for Horsham in the 7th, still trailing 7-6 and they get to work. J. Pendergast as a good lead off should do, led off the inning with a single. The game was quickly tied as Zach needed just a triple for the cycle and he picked a hell of a time to do it. His 7th inning triple tied the game and he put himself in position to score the walk off run. Two intentional walks by Vertex created a bases loaded situation and an opportunity to get forces at any bag. But Michael Bobrin made sure the ball was hit in play in the air and Mike gets the walk-off sac fly to stun Vertex 8-7.
