Post by latincontrol »

Game 1: Toto/Kiefer v. Slurricaes

Slurricanes took the field for the first game of the playoffs, but that was it. They took the field as the offense did not. Jean Mike went 2-3 with a single and double, scoring in the 3rd. Austin S reached base on an error in the 4th and later scored on yet another error. Slurricanes pushed just 2 men across the plate.

Toto/Kiefer offense did show up. Jon Poore tripled twice and scored 3 times (3 rbi), Ryan G went 3-4 with 3 runs scored, Mike Brown scored 3 times, and Jay Cybok went 5-5 with 5 singles and 4 runs scored. John Kiefer homered in the 2nd. They scored 21 times and destroyed Slurricanes. Toto/Kiefer advance.

Game 2: Just Food v. Team Horsham

Just Food scored 3 runs in the 3rd after getting triples from A. Caseelli and P. Avteri. M. Carbar, P. Iatarola, M. Duncan and D. Deriko all drove in a run in the 6th. Just Food scored just 9 runs. Let’s see why JUST 9…

Team Horsham, struggling to find offense many times throughout the season, really got going when it mattered most. In the 2nd inning they batted around plus 1 in route to a 7-run inning. Joe S doubled home 2. They go down in order in the 3rd and 4th innings, and then explode for another 7 runs in the 5th, batting around once again. Nick Ceniviva with the 2-run single. Game was at 14-9 at this point in favor of Horsham, but they decided to end the game. In the 6th, they batted around once again with Joe S smashing home 2, and Jarrett Prendergost going 2-2 in the inning which included the mercy activating single. Horsham destroys Just Food, 24-9.

Game 3: Toto/Kiefer v. Beers

A rematch from the final game of the season just a week prior, this time Toto/Kiefer crew have their full ‘crew.’ Chris Hackney scored 4 times from the leadoff spot and Jon Poore continued with a hot night this time going 4-5 missing the cycle by a HR. Job also scored 4 times and drove in 4. Toto/Kiefer scored 18 for the game.

Beers attempted to duplicate their previous week efforts. Back to ack tripled in the 2nd inning by Ryan W & Ryan M led a 5-run 2nd inning, Ryan W added a double in the 5th as part of a 7-run effort. Ryan M led off the 7th with a triple in a comeback effort, but came up short, 18-15.
Toto/Kiefer team headed to the Tuesday night finals.

Game 4: Team Horsham v. Vertex

Team Horsham came into this semi-final game looking to stay offensively hot and advance to the finals. Top of the first inning, Vince P doubled home 2 runs to cap a 4-run effort. Issue is, they scored just twice more the rest of the way. Zach P in the 3rd and Mike H in the 4th. Horsham plated just 6.

Vertex made sure the punched their ticket to the finals to face Toto/Kiefer crew. Aided by very poor Horsham pitching, Vertex drew 6 walks in route to a 10 run first. Three more walks led to an additional run in the 2nd, Matt Schaub drove in 2 in the 3rd, and 2-run hits by Mat C and Matt Schaub led to a 5 run 5th inning. Vertex pushed 21 men across the plate and took the final spot in the finals, winning 21-6.
