Week 1 at the Quarry

Game 1: Vertex Pest Management (0-0) at Outback Steakhouse (0-0)
Vertex comes out firing, getting six of their first seven men on base via hits and they'd all come aorund to score to take a 6-0 lead. Outback would see those six runs and rainse them 2 more, plating 8 on two singles, a groundout, a walk, two more hits, a sac fly, an error and three more hits. Vertex wuld tie the game in the top of the 2nd on a single, a triple and a sac fly and then would add 2 more in the 3rd on a single, a double, two groundouts and a 2 rbi single to take a 10-8 lead. That score would hold until the bottom of the 6th when Outback would would get a leadoff triple followed by six singles and a walk ad would run 6 across the plate to take a 15-10 lead. They'd hold Vertex in the top of the 7th and take this one by that score.

Game 2: Sex Panthers (0-0) at Ballz Deep (0-0)
Panthers get a walk, an error, a sac fly and three singles to plate 2 runs in the top of the 1st. BD answers with eight straight hits, plating 6 runs in the bottom half. Panthers get 4 back in the top of the 2nd on seven singles and a groundout to tie the game at 6. But BD would retake the lead in the bottom half on a single, a double, two more singles and a sac fly. Both teams go scoreless in the 3rd, score 4 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th. BD holds a 16-13 lead going into the 7th. The Panthers come up and get their leadoff man on via an error, a single, a sac fly and four more singles sees them take a 17=16 lead. They'd hold BD in the bottom half and wi by that score.

Player of the game: Jon Motts (Panthers) - 4/4 (3 1B, 2B), BB, 3 R, 3 RBI

Game 3: Mayhem (0-0) at Irsh Car Bombs (0-0)
Mayhem gets 3 in the top of the 1st on two doubles, two singles and a sac fly. ICB answers with a leadoff triple and a sac fly to get 1 back. Mayhem gets a 2-run HR from Justin Miller in the top of the 2nd and would get 2 more in the 3rd via a single, a triple and a sac fly. They'd add 3 more in the 4th after a leadoff single, a groundout and two doubles to take an 11-1 lead. They'd add 3 in the top of the 5th but the ICB makes it a game by getting a leadoff double, an error, a single, a 3-run HR by Ryan Goodman followed by five singles to cut Mayhem's lead to 14-8 but they wouldn't score again and Mayhem takes it 25-11.

Player of the game: Tom Ivers (Mayhem) - 4/6 (1B, 2 2B, HR) 3 R, 4 RBI

Game 4: The Commission (0-0) at Mayhem (1-0)
Mayhem's 2nd game of the night would not go as well as their 1st. The Commission comes out swinging. They get six of their first seven men on base via a hit, followed by a walk to load the bases and then grand slam by Chris Hackney gives them an 8-0 lead. Mayhem gets 3 back inthe bottom half on a leadoff triple, RBI single, a double, an error and a 2 RBI single. The Commission would come out in the 2nd and contiue their onslaught. They bat around their order a full two times. Leadoff triple, single, RBI single, RBI single, groundout/error, single, walk, 2 RBI single, RBI single, walk, a grand slam by John Erb, a triple, RBI single, double, sac fly, walk and an RBI double for a total of 15 runs and a 23-3 lead after two innings. They'd add 2 more in the 3rd on an error, a single and a triple. Mayhem would get 3 in the top of the 4th to keep the game alive but Commission would ultimately take this one 28-7.
