Game One: Generals @ Sons of Pitches
Generally speaking, 6 runs isn’t enough to win many slowpitch softball games. The Generals 6 runs came late in the game. Rusty Benz capped a 5 run inning with a 2 RBI single. SofP’s would post 18 on the night, with a well-balanced effort. Every player would cross the plate except one. Tim Frei and Josh Carl would score 3 times each and Bob Louderback would drive in 3.

Player of the Game: Tim Frei - Sons of Pitches - 3 for 4, 3 runs scored, 5 RBIs, 2 2Bs, 1 3Bs.

Game Two: Sons of Pitches @ Misfits
This would be a tight one, and it would come down to the final inning. Entering the bottom of the 7th, SofP’s would hold a 9-8 lead. Brent McGinty would single for the Misfits. Chase Ott would single. With 2 outs, Randy Helsman came to the plate with the tying and winning run onbase. A clutch single scored one, tying the game. Big John Kiefer then walked it off with an RBI single. Misfits defeat SofP’s 10-9.

Player of the Game: John Kiefer - Misfits - 2 for 4, 2 RBIs, 1 clutch moment.

Game Three: Misfits @ Dirty Dozen
This would be a high scoring affair with 41 total runs crossing the plate. The Misfits would score 4 in te 1st, 4 in the 2nd, and 7 in the 3rd. Randy Helsman would drive in 4 in that span. Chase Ott would score 3 of those opening 15. In the 1st 3 innings, D12 would post 7 runs. Joahn Aiken would score 2 of them Joe Murray and Brett Hassett each would drive in 2. In the 4th, D12 would explode for 11 more runs. Jon Myzak, Kelley Carver, and Justin O’Brien each would score twice. But the Misfits would answer with 7 more runs, two by Trevor Rice. Misfits outlast D12, 22-19.

Player of the Game: Chase Ott - Misfits - 3 for 3, BB, 3 runs scored, 4 RBIs, 1 2B.

***Shout out to my rugged good looks. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now it's goodbye... until next week!
