Game 1 - Misfits @ Cobra Kai
Cobra Kai wouldn't give up a hit (nor a run) through the opening 2 innings. Over that span, CK would plate 5 behind a series of walks and singles. CK would chunk up 5 more in the 4th and 5th behind a Steve Reed 2-run homer and Jeremy Figueroa's 2nd run scored of the night. Jake Haber would score on a Rob Thomkinson triple to conclude CK's 11 run night. The Misfits would wake up in the 3rd & 4th - scoring 6. Trevor RIce and Randy Helsman would each score twice and Chris Triolo would double in a run and score himself one batter later. But it wasn't enough. Cobra Kai defeats the Misfits 11-1. Player of the Game - Steve Reed - 3/4, 1 HR, 2 Runs Scored, 2 RBI's.
Game 2 - Dirty Dozen @ The Generals
D12 filled up the stat sheet tonight - in a game that would only go 5 innings. John Aiken 2/3, 2 walks, 4 runs scored, manned the lead off spot. Justin O'Brien batted third with another stellar week = 5/5, 2 doubles, 1 HR, 6 RBI's, 4 runs scored. D12 would score 8 of their 22 in the 4th inning on a handful of singles and a 2-un shot by Joe Murray. The Generals generally couldn't muster much offense. Justin Hager led off the game with a single and would score a few batters later off the bat of Rich Austin. Austin would score later in the game off a single by Andy Wilson. But that's all she wrote for the Generals. D12 defeats the Generals 22-2. Player of the Game - Justin O'Brien - 5/5, 2 doubles, 1 HR, 6 RBI's, 4 runs scored.
Game 3 - American Legion @ Sons of Pitches
AL plates 4 in the first. Runs by Tony Casper, Mike Skrzat, and Dan Powell got the Legion off to a strong start. SofP's would get one back as Trevor Harris would lead off with a walk, and then score on a bases loaded walk drawn by Rob Rossman. The Legion would score 2 more in the 2nd, and then 6 in the 3rd. Jake Engleman would score twice in this span and then homer in the 4th. Dan Powell also homered in the 4th as AL tallied 4 more. SofP's would score 4 in 2nd and 3 in the 4th. Trevor Harris and Tim Frei each rounded home twice in this span. But by the end of the 5th, SofP's would only scratch out 8 runs. The Legion would collect 29 runs in a defeat of the Sons of Pitches - 29-8. Player of the Game - Dan Powell - 4/4, 1 walk, 1 HR, 4 runs scored, hit for the cycle.
Shout out to scorekeeper, Bob Louderback. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now it's goodbye... until next week!
