Conduct Unbecoming

Conduct Unbecoming

United States Code
Title 10: Armed Forces
Subtitle A: General Military Law
Part II: Personnel
Chapter 47: Uniform Code Of Military Justice
Subchapter X: Punitive Articles
Section: 933
Article 133: Conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.

Any commissioned officer, cadet, or midshipman who is convicted of conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

Regardless of what may be written in the ASA and SBA rules, Softball America league law shall now be governed in much the same manner as general military law. Conduct unbecoming any league member will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and with serious consequences. Those of you that have rifts with league officials or other league members had best settle those rifts in a hurry or you will find yourself on the outside of the league looking in. Fights, threats, obnoxious behavior, etc. will not be tolerated under any circumstances. League members found guilty of conduct unbecoming shall be punished as a panel of league officials may direct with lengthy suspensions and/or league ejections.

Everyone knows an umpire can eject a player from a game in order to maintain control of the game. Not everyone knows an umpire is responsible for what happens on the ball field grounds before a game, during a game, between games, and after a game. An umpire not only has the right, but an obligation to the league and its members to maintain control at all times and may, at their discretion, address conduct unbecoming the league by issuing game suspensions before, during, and after games.

Softball is a game and nothing more.

As per league rules...

FORFEITS: A team forfeiting a 2nd time in any season will be required to remit a $45.00 forfeit fee to the scorekeeper before their next game. The forfeit fee will be used as a snack bar credit for the 2 teams receiving the forfeits.

Sunday Men's team, Corporate Restructure, must submit a $45.00 forfeit fee before they can take the field for their game on May 21, 2006. Kenny's Madison Tavern and the Phurians shall be the recipients of this credit to the tune of $22.00 each. Andy nails the $1.00 for what he labels a service fee.

As per league rules...

Quote:The consumption of alcohol while playing, or on the player’s bench, is strictly prohibited. Umpires will warn, then eject.

I now ask any and all league officials (umpires, scorekeepers, etc.) to order any individual that is, or has become intoxicated at any ball field to leave the ball field grounds immediately. Failure by the intoxicated individual to do so will result in an indefinte league suspension.

Anthony McGeehan (manager High Stakes, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory league suspension for the balance of the Sunday Men’s spring/summer season. Mr. McGeehan received a second ejection in the same season as a result of using a non-roster player under false pretenses (under the name of a roster player) in a game on 06/10/07.

Perr league rules…

Quote:An individual receiving a second ejection during the same season in any league will be suspended from all leagues for the remainder of the current season. All league fees will be forfeited.

This suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.
