A formal protest was lodged yesterday by a member of Softball America against the 99 Restaurant Monday Coed team for failure to abide by the all-star/eddie rule.

All-Star/Eddie Rule
Any coed team batting line-up containing more than 4 all-stars shall abide by the all-star/eddie rule and must at all times maintain a batting line-up that contains at least an equal number of eddies. A team with a batting line-up containing 4 or less all-stars will abide by regular coed rules. If, at any time during the regular season, by any member of Softball America, a team using 5 or more all-stars is found to be in default of the all-star/eddie rule, that team will forfeit all games in which the infraction occurred. All-stars are determined by the league and shall be adjusted yearly.

99 carries 6 all-stars:
Steph Garrett
Mike DeGuida
Rob Johnson
Mike DiCristafano
Chris Hesdon
Keith Keppley

On 05/17/10, in a game against New Age, 5 all-stars and only 4 eddies played the game for 99. This placed the team in direct default of the all-star/eddie rule. As a result, the 99 team will forfeit their win. New Age wins the game by default 7-0. Individual statistics will remain as is.

A formal protest was lodged by a member of Softball America against the 99 Sunday Coed team for failure to abide by the all-star/eddie rule.

All-stars are determined by the league and shall be adjusted yearly.

99 carries 5 all-stars:
Kurt Keppley
Keith Keppley
Rob Johnson
Fran Benson
Matt McReynolds

On 05/23/10, in a game against the Crackers, 5 all-stars and only 4 eddies played the game for the 99 team. This placed the team in direct default of the all-star/eddie rule. As a result, the 99 team will forfeit their win. The Crackers win the game by default 7-0. Individual statistics will remain as is.
On 05/23/10, in a game against the Renegades, 5 all-stars and 4 eddies started the game for the 99 team. After 1 out in the 1st inning, all-star Rob Johnson was removed from the game. Be it for 1 out or 1 pitch, if a team has more all-stars than eddies in the line-up, they are in default. As a result, the 99 team will forfeit their win. Renegades win the game by default 7-0. Individual statistics will remain as is.

Sunday Coed final standings will be adjusted accordingly.

Glen Hipple has been suspended from further participation in any and all Softball America leagues for an indefinite period of time for conduct unbecoming the league*. This suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending games or being on the ball field grounds.

*Conduct unbecoming is a phrase used to refer to behavior that is considered dishonorable. Its origin is military, though it is used in other fields to describe offensively discourteous behavior.
