Game 1: Amber Inn vs. Phily’s Phinest

Amber Inn jump out in the top of the first, popping three singles and forcing an error to plate two. Bill Harper smacks a double for the in the top of the second, extending Amber Inn’s lead by one. In the top of the third, Bill Steinberger pokes a bases loaded single to knock in two more runs to give Amber Inn a five run advantage. Philly’s Phinest come alive in the bottom of the third, hitting five singles to plate their first three runs of the series. In the top of the fifth, Amber Inn hit a series of singles to score two runs. Philly’s Phinest match them in the bottom of that frame on their walk and three singles. Kevin Noone drove in Amber Inn’s lone run in the top of the sixth. With only one hit in the bottom of the sixth, Philly’s Phinest force enough errors to tally three runs and knot the game at 8. After neither team could break the tie in the seventh, extra innings were in order. Three straight batters hit singles in the bottom of the ninth before John Quartullo drove in the deciding run for Philly’s Phinest, taking game 1 without an extra base hit 9-8.


Game 2: Philly’s Phinest vs. Amber Inn

Amber Inn take the early lead again, this time in the bottom of the first thanks to Bill Steinberger driving in a run. Philly’s Phinest tie it up in the top of the fourth on Tony Summers’ base knock. In the bottom of the frame, Corey Carlen ropes a double to plate another run for Amber Inn, reestablishing their lead. In the top of the seventh, Philly’s Phinest have their best inning yet, poking five singles and getting back to back homers from Mike Rocks Jr. and Ray Rocks as they score five. In the bottom of the seventh, Mark McKinney launches a leadoff homer, then Amber Inn follows with a Bill Steinberger double, a Corey Carlen triple, and a base hit from Phil Klatch, but that would only add three runs, failing to force game three. Philly’s Phinest sweep Amber Inn by winning this one 6-5.
