Game One: Beers v. Da Bears
Scott Runzer had himself a night for the visiting team going 5-5 which included hitting for the cycle. His third inning 2-run bomb left him just a double away from the cycle which he achieved in his final at bat in the 6th. Scott also scored 4 times and drove in 3. Richie A also had a decent night with 3 hits and 5 runs knocked in.
Da Bears had a big 2nd inning putting up 7 runs which were highlighted by Matt Kohn and Jason Adelman’s 2-run doubles. Unfortunately, only four other runs scored the rest of the way. They scored 11, but gave up 23.
Game Two: Dingers v. Vertex
Dingers had first crack offensively and started out incredibly slow. Just 2 hits through the 4th before Dave Demko and Chris Marion each drove in a run. Consecutive hits by the middle of the order helped push 5 more across in the 5th and Brandon Walker capped the team’s scoring with a 2-run homer in the 6th.
Vertex however went to work. Keith Crowell drove in 4, Mat Crowell drove in 4 & Zach Martin drove in 5, Russell Miller scored 3 times batting out of the 11th spot while the team finished with 20 runs. Vertex with the easy win.
Game Three: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Ballz Deep
Mike’s Bar & Grill – 2 runs on 5 hits
Ballz Deep – 23 runs on 20 hits and 7 walks. Alex Freeman with a 2-run homer in the 2nd and Jason Falcone with a 3-run homer in the 3rd. Nuff said!
Game Four: Philly Junk v. Kahn, Bobrin & Assoc.
KBA with a 2-run HR from Grant Opalisky in the 3rd inning and Zach Prendegast with a 2-run shot in the 6th. Matt Galasso and Eric Lane both driving in 3 on the night. KBA finishes with 10 runs scored.
Brandon Birkhead had himself a ball game. 4-5 on the night which included a triple and 3 long balls. He finished with 8 rbi in the game. Shane Hanna smashed a 2-run shot in the 6th and KC Ingram hit three solo bombs of his own. Philly Junk working the long ball on this one and win easily 23-10.
