Game #1 –Dirt Stars vs. Dave and Confused

Dirt Stars put up three early runs on an RBI single from Dan Owens and RBI walk from Sean Mackley. Confused respond with six runs across the next two innings as they take a 6-3 lead. Sean Pena had a two run triple and Kevin Noone added an RBI single. Dirt Stars tie the game up in the second inning getting three runs of their own off a Dan Curran RBI double and Owens sac fly. Confused get rolling again pushing four runs across in the fifth. John Hickman started the scoring with an RBI single and Pena ended the scoring with an RBI single later in the inning. Unfortunately for Dirt Stars, their bats go ice cold and they cannot muster up any offense for the rest of the game as they will fall in this one. Dirt Stars win 11-6.

Sean Pena (Confused) – 3/3, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI’s



Game #2 – Morning Wood vs. Palz

Palz strike first in this one getting a run on a Pete Herbert RBI single and Danny Freeman fielders choice as they take an early 2-0 lead. This was safe until the third inning when Morning Wood would explode for four runs and taka a 5-2 lead. Sean Valenze got the scoring started with a solo home run and a couple of batters later, Colton Hooker smashed a three run bomb into the woods. Morning Wood add three more runs across the next two innings from a Ken Fretz solo homer and a couple singles as Palz continue to struggle. Palz finally get back to scoring in the fifth when they net three runs. Brian Pearce had an RBI single and both Leo Pagan and Casey Long had RBI doubles in the inning. Ryan Nakonieczny added an RBI single in the seventh inning, but Palz could not get anything else going as they would fall short. Morning Wood wins 8-6.

Game #3 – Sunday Scaries vs. Morning Wood

Morning Wood looks to continue their success and hitting from their first game and they do that to a tune of five runs. Seam Valenze smashed a two run bomb followed up a Colton Hooker two run bomb a couple of batters later, his second one of the game. Matt Kohn then smashed a solo homer as Morning Wood explodes for their three home runs right out of the gate. Scaries get their first run on a solo bomb from Kris Karaba in the top of the second, but Morning Wood answer back in the bottom of the inning with two more runs. Steve Lox and Matt Greever both had triples in the inning. Scaries get help again from a homer in the fifth, this time a two run bomb from Josh Persing. That is where the offense would end for scaries as they can’t push any more across and will fall in this one. Morning Wood wins 12-3.

Colton Hooker (Morning Wood) – 2/3, HR, 2 RBI’s




Game #4 – Hambinos vs. Hounds

Hambinos get rolling with a one run lead out of the gate off a Bob Gowan fielder’s choice. Hounds answer back in the bottom of the inning with RBI singles from Daniel Roman and Scott Rongy. Hambinos grab that lead back in the second with a couple runs. Spencer Slutsky knocked one in on an RBI double. Hambinos score three more runs in the third thanks to back to back bombs from Gowin and Mark Peasley. Hambinos open up a bigger lead in the fourth thanks to more extra base hits. Pat Tobin and Matt Schalck had two run home runs and Peasley had a two run triple as well. Hounds get some runs back in the bottom of the inning after a Roman solo homer and RBI single from Rongy. Hambinos blow this game open in the next two innings as they score a whopping 11 runs in total. The homers continued as Slutsky smashed a solo homer and Pat Tobin and Schalck had RBI singles. Hambinos win big 22-7.

Game #5 – MaGerks vs. Birdgang

Jason McLaughlin starts the scoring for Birdgang in the bottom of the first with an RBI single. MaGerks answers in the top of the second with sac flies from Will Clark and Dave Cohee. Dave Rothenberger smacks a sac fly in the next inning to bring Birdgang back to within one run. Birdgang jumps out on top in the third after Justin Csesar, Shawn Collins and Andrew Hildebrand RBI singles. Anthony Ciliberto had an RBI double. MaGerks get the game to within one run after a Clark RBI single and a couple of errors. 7-6 in favor of Birdgang is where we sit after 4 innings of play. Birdgang blows this game open in the sixth as they put up five runs. Mark Rothenberger added a two run bomb in the inning. Birdgang wins 14-7.
