Week 5 - B East - May 23rd

Post by latincontrol »

One lone game at Cedar Hill and we had Keller Williams taking on Gwynedd Manufacturing I

The housing crew constructed a nice offensive game pushing 21 runs across on multiple extra base hits. Brian Voytko went 4-4 with 4 runs scored while Nick Spisak went 4-4 coming a double short of the cycle. Nick hit a grand slam in the 2nd inning and also tripled. All part of a 14-run outburst.
For Gwynedd, just 2 runs on 6 hits. Taking two outs in the batting order is never fun. Caleb Weldon smashed a solo bomb in the 2nd inning. Keller dominates Gwynedd 21-2.

From Hatfield:

Game One: Slap-A-Pitch v. Mike’s Bar & Grill

SAP dominated this game early with 13 runs through 4 innings. A slew of walks and errors given by Mike’s certainly helped and add in key hits from Harrison Miller who doubled and tripled in this game and you have a nice offensive outing.
The story for Mike’s was different. Struggling early, they got going late. Scoring 9 runs in the game and all coming after the 4th. Kelly Koelzer had a nice game going 3-4 with 2 rbi. But the late rally fell short and Mikes team falls by 4.

Game Two: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Gwynedd Manufacturing II

Again, Gwyneed taking multiple batting outs in the line up but it didn’t stop Dom Volpe from having a 3-4 afternoon and driving in 2. Jimmy Webb also had two hits which included 4th inning HR. Gwynedd still managed to score 8.
Mike’s Matt Asterito had himself a VERY good game. He went 4-6 with 3 of his hits being Home Runs. He was a grand slam short of the HR cycle. Matt finished with 7 rbi and nearly won the game himself. A 10-run outburst in the 7th inning really put the game away as Mike’s dominated 24-8.

Game Three: Gwynedd Manufactung II v. Bottom Pitches

Short game here as Gwyn managed 5 runs on 5 hits. A handful of errors also helped with Dom Volpe and Christ Smith both finishing with 2 hits.
Bottom Pitches exploded with 10 runs in the 2nd inning and another 9 runs in the 3rd. Steve Noseworthy had a worthy 4-4 game coming a HR short of the cycle. He also scored three times and drove in 2. Meredith Mayse was 2-2 with 2 walks, 2 runs scored and an rbi as BP won easily 26-5.

VanFossen Vikings v. Bottom Pitches

Bottom Pitches’ Steve Noseworthy continued his hot day at the plate going 3-4 with a walk, 2 doubles, a triple, 3 runs scored and 4 ribbies. Doug Andres added 4 ribbies of his own as BP finished with 10.
The Vikings looked to remain undefeated and with Corey Van Fossen and Chris Collins both homering in the first inning…they were on their way. Zach Walsh added a 2-run homer in the 3rd while John Walsh added another in 6th. Contssa Marino added the key hit of the game with a 2-run single in the 6th to give the Vikings a late lead they would not relinquish. Vikings remains undefeated on the season with a 14-10 victory.
