Playoffs - June 1st

Post by latincontrol »

We start the post season with 4 games on the slate to determine who will represent the Tuesday Men’s in the Finals.

Game One: Wire 2 Wire v. Dingers

W2W got themselves a breakout game from Gene Walczak as he went 4-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Bill Shallcross had 2 hits and scored 3 times while Joe DiMezza also had two hits, scoring twice.
Dingers got really good production from the 2nd half of their order. Jake Salter was a HR short of the cycle…scoring three times and Zack Zbarsky drove in 3 runs on 2 hits. Jake McCall had the big hit in the home half of the 6th inning when he drove in the go ahead run with a double. He later scored to add cushion as Dingers stole game 1, 12-10.

Game Two: Team Horsham v. Beers

Team Horsham did absolutely nothing managing just 2 hits and 2 walks.
Beers needed just the 2nd inning when they nearly batted around plating 7 runs. Rich A had the innings biggest hit, a 2-run bomb. Scott R added a 2-run shot later in the game (5th inning) to seal the mercy rules, 15-0.

Game Three: Dingers v. Dookie Brewster

Dingers did well in their semi final matchup. Several errors by Dookie crew certainly helped but a run producing triple in the first inning by Dave I, an rbi double by Brandon W in the 3rd, a 2-run double by Rich S in the 5th and a 2-run bomb by Pete A helped Dingers score 16 times.
But keeping ‘Dookie’ down is never easy. A 7-run outburst in the 2nd inning was highlighted with Jared Gardner’s rbi double while Ryan Goodman went yard in the 3rd (Solo) and 5th (3-Run) innings. Jon Poore added a 3-run shot in the 4th inning while Chris Hackney collected 2 hits (double, triple) and scored 3 runs. Dookie went on to score 23 runs and advance to the Finals.

Game Four: Beers v. Philly Junk

Beers got rolling early after Scott R smashed a 3-run homer in the 1st inning and Connor M homered in the 6th with his 2-run shot. But Beers finished with just 10 runs for the game and against Philly…not gonna work.
Philly had great production all over the line up. Brandon B homered in the 2nd inning and added two more hits while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. KC Ingram homered in the first inning and Ryan H had a 3-4 night with a double, triple, 4 runs scored and 3 ribbies. Philly advanced to the Finals with a 25-10 trashing.
