Generals @ Dirty Dozen
After 2 innings, the Generals held a 4-2 lead over D12. John Muniz scored twice and Jon Fink would net 2 RBIs for the Generals. Generally speaking, scoring 4 runs isn’t enough to win in slow pitch softball, which would hold true in this one. D12 Would stack up 14 more runs behind Cody Nash’s 2 run homer and his 3 run blast. Cory Wambold wouldn’t make a batted out (3 BBs & 2 singles) and would cross the plate 3 times on the night. D12 defeats the Generals, 16-4.

Player of the Game: Cody Nash - Dirty Dozen - 3/4 - 2 HRs, 8 RBIs, 2 runs scored.

Cobra Kai @ American Legion
The Kai struggled to get baserunners on tonight, leaving them little opportunity to score runs. Getting only 5 on the night wouldn’t be enough to unseat the Vegas favorite, American Legion. 3 of the 5 Kai runs came on a Mike Fisher 3-run homer. Legion wouldn’t have their normal offensive output, but they would post 9 to gain the victory. Tom Banes topped off the night with a 2 run homer. American Legion defeats Cobra Kai, 9-5.

Player of the Game: Brian Wrigley, 4/4, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, 1 run scored.

Sons of Pitches @ Misfits
The game of the night featured 37 runs! Sons of Pitches started the game with their first 3 batters all crossing the plate (Blaine Hurrey, Trevor Harris, & Tim Glick) and a 1,2, 3 defensive half inning. SofP’s would then have the first 4 batters of the 2nd inning all cross the plate too. The Misfits would get hot, posting 12 runs in the next 3 innings - playing small ball hitting nothing greater than a double. Moving to the 5th, the Misfits led 13-11. SofP’s tally 7 runs, highlighted by a 3-run shot by Tim Glick. This would be the end of the scoring for the Son, but would 18 runs be enough to win it? Misfits see Donnie Squartino hit a solo shot in the 5th, and a series of singles and walks in the 6th. Randy Helsman tallied a 2 run single. Misfits pull off the comeback, defeat Sons of Pitches, 19-18.

Player of the Game: Mike Shutt - Misfits - 3/4 - 4 RBIs, 3 runs scored.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now it's goodbye... until next week!
