Game One: Cobra Kai @ The Generals
Generally speaking, scoring 4 won’t be enough to win a slow pitch softball game. But that’s all the Generals would be able to muster. Jon Fink would double and score 2 of the 4. Cobra Kai would bat around in the first, scoring 6 on mostly singles. The 5th inning was more of the same with an array of singles from nearly every batter in the lineup. TJ Lillo would drive in 2 runs and Sam Plaugher would drive in 1 on a triple. Cobra Kai defeats the Generals, 19-4.
Player of the Game: Sam Plaugher, Cobra Kai, 4 for 5, 3 runs scores, 3 RBIs, 1 triple.
Game Two: Misfits @ Generals
The Generals were warmed up for game 2, and poised for a high scoring affair with the Misfits. The ‘Fits would jump out posting 11 in the first 2 innings. Dan Benner went yards, driving in 2 and 5 of his teammates would hit doubles. Chase Ott’s 2-bagger netted him 2 RBIs. In the same span, the Generals would hang around scoring 6 runs. Chris Forester would score twice, once after a double and once after his 2-run bomb. The ‘Fits didn’t answer in the next 2 innings, but would trickle in a few more runs in the 5th, 6th, & 7th. Ott struck again with a triple, leaving himself just a homer short of the cycle. The Generals struck oil in the 6th as Fink doubled, along with Forester. Mark Loykendall drove in 2 on a single, pushing the Generals total to 16 runs - 2 shy of the ‘Fits.
Player of the Game: Chase Ott, Misfits, 4 for 5, 2 triples, 1 double, 2 runs scored, 3 RBIs.
Game Three: Misfits @ Cannoneers
This one wouldn’t go the distance as the Cannoneers would chunk off 20 runs in just 4 innings. Jake Engleman, Shawn Hines, and and Mike Banes would each have perfect nights from the plate. The Misfits would post 3 in the 4th as Randy Helsman, John Keifer, and Dan Benner would go back-to-back-to-back with singles. Each would score. The Cannoneers defeat the Misfits, 20-3.
Player of the Game: Shawn Hines, Cannoneers, 4 for 4, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs, 4 runs scored.
Hatfield Games from 9/24 are on the way!
