Week 6 - October 6th

Post by latincontrol »

Game One: King’s Corner v. Just Food

King’s Corner got their usual offensive production from key players with Jarrett Kerns going 5-5 on the night. His five hits included a 2-run homer and 5 rbi. Frank Staber went 4-4 with 4 ribbies and John Erb added 4 hits coming a HR short of the cycle. Erb finished with 3 ribbies.
Just Food didn’t get much going until the 5th inning when they rallied for 9 runs. Corey Eyerman smashed a 3-run homer for this 2nd hit of the night. Eric Rosenblum had two hits and 2 rbi. They scored 11, but lost by exactly that many.

Game Two: Wire 2 Wire v. Philly Junk

A nice match up this one. W2W had their offense going early as Jim Chapman was 4-4 with 2 rbi and Jacoc McDevitt was 3-4 with 2 rbi. The team scored 11 runs through the 4th inning, managing just 3 hits and 2 walks the rest of the way.
Opposite story for Philly. Pretty quiet through the 4th inning outside of a 4-run 3rd inning highlighted by Shane Hanna’s 2-run single. In the 5th, the team drove in 6 more runs with a 3-run homer from Brandon Birkhead being the inning’s bit hit. Brandon would double and score in the 6th to tie the game and in the 7th, Cam K delivered the walk-off hit with a single that scored Brett Anker. Philly took this game 12-11.

Game Three: Dookie Brewster v. Dingers

Dingers scored 5 runs through the game’s first four innings with Jake McCall driving in two of those runs with a 33rd inning double. Connor O’Keefe doubled in the team’s 6th run in the 6th inning to cap their offensive output on the night.
Dookie didn’t start out all that great, but finished well. Jose Rodriguez hit his 2nd of 2 doubles in the 3rd inning to drive in a run and then tripled and scored in the 5th. Jose later drove in another run with a single. James McLaughling smashed a 3-run homer in the 7th to add the insurance they needed and walk away with the W, 11-6.
