Game #1 – Wackers vs. Mott-Ley Crew

Crew get on the scoreboard first with a two run triple off the bat of Jeremy Villano as Crew take an early 3-0 lead right out of the gate. Wackers get one run back in the second inning on a Jess Frelick RBI single. Crew are back at it again in the third, with a Jon Motts home run followed by a CJ Motts solo bomb. Crew explode in the fifth and really grab this game as they bat around and push seven runs across taking a commanding 13-2 lead. Crew gets RBI singles from Tom Finn and CJ Motts followed by a grand slam off the bat of big time Jeremy Villano. Wackers finally step up in the sixth and push five runs across trying to get back into this game. Matt Bookhemier, Lisa Tercha and Dennis D’Angelo all had RBI’s in the inning. That would be all they could muster up in this one and will fall. Crew will party tonight, celebrating their big win without Porter, as they wait a week to meet Demons in the A Finals next week. Crew win 13-7.

Player of the Game:
Jeremy Villano (Crew) – 2/3, HR, 3B, HR, 6 RBI’s

Game #2 – Altek vs. Knuckleheads

Altek come out with all the energy but fail to register a run heading into bottom of the inning. Knuckleheads respond and get three runs of their own after a two run double from Jon Poore and an RBI single from John Keifer. Both teams lock it down defensively for the next couple of innings as players are diving all over the place making plays. Altek finally get on the board in the fourth off a Casey Mahreon RBI single as they look to spark a rally. Knuckleheads, fearing the pressure of that lead mounting, smash the fifth inning and knock in seven runs. Steph Farrar starts the scoring with an RBI triple followed by RBI singles off the bat of Jon Poore, Bobby Hartzell, John Schofield and Collin Radcliffe. Altek start running out of time and do grab three more runs. Taylor Meshan and Brittany Landenslayer drew RBI walks and Casey Mahron knock in one on a single, but that is where their luck would run out. Knuckleheads will hold on strong in this one and earn their spot in the championship next week. Knuckleheads win 11-7.

Player of the Game:
Jon Poore (Knuckleheads) – 2/4, 2B, 3 RBI’s

Game #3 – Wehrung’s vs. Carroll’s

The final game of the night and final spot for the B Championship gets started with Carroll’s getting out of a basses loaded jam and keeping the game nodded at zero. Carroll’s push across three runs on RBI singles from Greg Lesher and Ali Theis as well as a sac fly from Bill Shipe. Wehrung’s respond in the bottom of the inning with one more run on a Cindy Snyder RBI single bring the deficit down to 2. Neither team can score in the third inning and nothing until John Zeits steps to the plate in the bottom of the fourth. He delivers with an RBI single followed by an RBI single from Sarah Yoos. Bob McClintock bumps their lead up to 6-1 after he smacks an RBI single. We head to the top of the seventh, where Wehrung’s has their backs up against the wall. Wyatt Schilling and Lowell Snyder start the inning with back to back singles before Luke Hendricks drives in a run on a single of his own. Kyle Hendricks and Cindy Snyder match those singles with singles of their own driving in two more runs. Bobby Snyder will bring this game to within one on an RBI double. Alex Poniktera delivers the big shot with a two run single for them to take the lead. Carroll’s get an opening single from Bill Shipe, but then go down 1,2, 3 in the bottom of the inning and will fall in this game late. Wehrung’s wins and will head to the ship next week. Wehrung’s win 7-6.
