Game #1 – Carroll’s vs. The Maize

Carroll’s come out firing, batting around, and putting up a whooping nine runs right out of the gate. Greg Lesher starts the scoring with a solo homer, followed by RBI singles from Bob McClintock and Steve DiGiovanni as well as a two run double from Sanket Kapadia. The Maize comes back with one run of their own on a Kyle Strachan RBI single. Maize gets one run in the third on an Aaron Worthington RBI single and Christian Hazlett solo homer. Carroll’s, leading 9-3, come back and score four more runs in the fourth. Lesher smashes a three run bomb and Bill Shipe smashes a solo bomb of his own. Maize fight back with four runs in the sixth on two homers of their own. Both Aaron Worthington and Gary Kleinschmidt smash two run bombs as they bring this game to 13-7. Carroll’s will add on a couple more runs late and take this one. Carroll’s win 16-7.

Player of the Game:
Greg Lesher (Carroll’s) – 3/4, 3 HR’s, 6 RBI’s

Game #2 – The Maize vs. Rock N Rebel

Maize strike first with two runs on an Aaron Worthington two run single. Neither team scores in the second inning as the defensive leather is flashed by both teams. Maize will be the next team to strike in the third, with four more runs. Kyle Strachan and Bill Worthington have RBI singles and Aaron Worthington was back at it again with an RBI double. Yet again, the next team to strike, again, is Maize, this time in the sixth. Christian Hazlett knocked in two with a two run bomb while Bob Garges forced an RBI walk. Rebel finally get on the board in the sixth with a two run single from Janice Tansits. Zac Talmadge smashes a three run bomb in the seventh as they start to show some life. That is short lived as they wait too long in this one and will fall. Maize wins 12-5.

Player of the Game:
Aaron Worthington (Maize) – 3/4, 2 2B’s, 3 RBI’s

Game #3 – Rock N Rebel vs. Altek

Rebel look for better results in this one, but start off cold again, allowing a two run bomb to Kevin Cwikla giving Altek the early 2-0 lead. Rebel get rolling in this one a bit earlier than the previous game and push across three runs in the third. Stefano Giuliani knocks in two with a double and a batter later, Talmadge and Rob Schuh knock back to back RBI doubles. Altek will grab a run back in the sxith on a Tyler Meshon RBI single. Altek has one more chance to tie this up on win it in the seventh trailing by two. They will step up and tie it in the seventh, getting RBI singles from Nick Cataldi and Scott Flaherty. Into extra innings we go. Both teams grab a run in the eighth as we will head to another inning. Rebel erupt for five runs. Paul Hensler had a two run single while Rob Schuh added a run on an RBI double. Altek has their back up against the wall again needing five runs to tie or six to win. Tony Luizza starts the inning off with an RBI single, but that is all they would be able to put up and will fall in extras. Rebel wins 11-7.
