Game #1 – Knuckleheads vs. Wackers

Knuckleheads get rolling with a Jon Poore sac fly and John Kiefer RBI single to take a 2-0 lead. Wackers double that in the bottom of the inning getting four runs. Dan Vescovi starts it with a two run double and CJ Brancato knocks in two with a double as well. Knuckleheads get another run on a Jesse Faller sac fly. Wackers increase their lead again, this time on a two run triple from Jess Frelick. Wackers will get three more runs in the fourth on some erros taking a 9-4 lead. Knuckleheads get rolling in the fifth batting around and pushing across seven runs in total. Calvin Radcliffe, John Schofield and Jesse Faller knock in runs on RBI singles, while Steph Farrar knocks in two runs on a two run triple. Mike Koezler and Poore knock back to back solo bombs to close out the scoring in the inning. Wackers, trailing 11-9, step up and have a big bottom of the inning. Jason Figueroa provided the big shot with a three run bomb. Wackers add some big insurance runs in the sixth putting up a whopping 12 runs in total. Joe Povoni and Dennsi Dangelo grab two run doubles in the inning. Knuckleheads are up against the wall, but will not back down. Faller and Koezler grab two run doubles while Poore and Bobby Hartzell knock in a run on a single. They will score six runs in the seventh, but will still fall short. Wackers win 22-17.

Jason Figueroa (Wackers) – 3/4, HR, 3 RBI’s



Game #2 – Mott-Ley Crew vs. Wehrung’s

The next game gets started with a two run double off the bat of Carl Motts. Wehrung’s respond in the bottom of the inning with a Steph Hines RBI single and three run bomb off the bat of Luke Hendricks. Crew grab the lead back in the second pushing across five runs. Selina Alicea and Tom Finn knock in runs on RBI singles and Brady Mengel knocks in a run on a two run double. Crew keep it rolling with RBI hits from CJ Motts and Jon Duchette in the following inning. Crew will start to pull away in the fifth inning. Greg Rielly starts the scoring with a two run triple while Jon Motts, Alicea and Duchette knock in runs on hits. CJ Motts also smacked an RBI double in the inning. Crew will grab eight more runs across the next two innings as they end this one early. Jon Motts adds two more RBI’s on another single. Hendricks did smash another two run bomb in the last inning for Wehrung’s as they will fall in this one. Crew win 24-9.

Game #3 – Wehrung’s vs. Dug Out Demons

Wehrung’s look to recover from a tough first game, but this game will start out rough as well. Pat Kelley gets the scoring started with an RBI double, followed by an RBI single from Tom Koezler. Koezler would get back to it in the second inning with a grand slam, along with RBI singles from Tara Soler, Bill Shallcross, Sean Nonemacher and Ryan Goodman. Wehrung’s would grab two runs in the second on an Alex P and Bobby S RBI single, but it would get real tough after that at the dish. Demons would lead 10-2 after two innings and never look back. RBI singles from Goodman, Kelly and Jake Haber net Demons three more runs. Demons would put this one away in the fifth. Shallcross would smash a ball into the trees with a three run bomb and Kelly would walk this off with a two run double. Demons win 18-2.

Game #4 – Dug Out Demons vs. Muckdogs

Demons look to keep the runs flowing in their second game and start it with four runs out of the gate. Koezler starts it with an RBI single followed by a Jay Pane RBI double and Greta Sheridan two run single. Muckdogs will respond back in the bottom of the inning with three runs on a Roger Ayala RBI triple, Tony Cabot sac fly and Jeff Kulp solo bomb. After a zero run inning in the second, Demons grab six more runs in the third. Kelly smashes a three run bomb before Greta knocks in another run on a single. Krysta Wellington will also add a run on an RBI double later in the inning as Demons take a 10-3 lead. Muckdogs get two back on an Ayala two run double. Demons will keep the pressure on with three more runs thanks to a Goodman RBI double, Koezler sac fly and Haber single. Muckdogs will grab six runs over the next two innings to keep themselves in it. Eric Schade will add two runs on a single while Greg Hess will add one more as well. Goodman will pad some insurance runs with a two run bomb in the sixth, before heading to the seventh. Muckdogs will grab three more runs, but will fall just short. Demons win 16-13.
