Wolfpack vs. Swingers

Quiet 1st innings for both teams, as Swingers muster the lone run in the bottom half thanks to a Dion Greene sac fly. Both squads trade 4 spots in the 2nd. Five singles, including a 2 RBI knock for Anthony Perretti, and a walk pace the offense for Wolfpack. Three singles, a Brian Close 2B, and a David Pohle 3B lead the way for Swingers. Both teams score 3 in the 3rd, with three singles and a pair of walks propelling the offense for Wolfpack, and a two run HR by Justin Coyle doing the same for Swingers. Wolfpack puts up another 3 in the top of the 4th, with three more singles and an Anthony Perretti 3 bagger doing the damage. Swingers fail to produce a run and end the inning in four at bats. In the top of the 5th, Wolfpack extend their lead to 12-8 scoring two runs off of three singles. The Swingers swing themselves back into the lead however, plating 6 runs as they batted around. Five singles and doubles by the Close twins, Matt and Brian, helped the cause. Down 2, the Wolfpack fire back, scoring 5 in the top of the 6th, with five singles, and a pair of doubles by Andrew Brockett and Kenny Goodwin put them back up. Swingers couldn’t muster a run in the bottom of the 6th, and the game ends due to time. Wolfpack take this one in a burner, 17-14 final.

Player of the Game: Justin Coyle, Swingers. Coyle hit well in the loss, going 3-4 with two singles, and a 2 run HR. He also scored twice.



Philly’s Phinest vs. Wolfpack

Philly’s Phinest get off to a quick start, scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning, with doubles from Tony Summers and Ed ‘Cleveland’ Rocks. Wolfpack scores 2 of their own, thanks to doubles from Mike Bartasavich and Andrew Brockett. Phinest go quiet the next two innings, failing to get a run across, while Wolfpack drops a half dozen between the 2nd and 3rd innings. Five singles, two doubles, and a Kevin Levonien triple paced the offense. Phinest get 1 more back in the top of the 4th, courtesy of a Chris Rommel RBI double. Wolfpack drop a 7 spot in the bottom of the inning. Four singles and back-to-back HRs by Mike Bartasavich and Andrew Brockett led the way. Phinest are unable to score a run in the 5th, and Wolfpack hit their magic number with 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to win this one by a 19-4 final.

Player of the Game: Mike Bartasavich, Wolfpack. Bartsky had a day at the plate, going 3-4 with two singles, a three run HR, 5 RBI and a run scored in the win.



Philly’s Phinest vs. Dugout Demons

Phinest dust themselves off, and after a rousing pep talk by John Quartullo, come out firing in the top of the 1st with a half dozen runs. Five singles in a row, followed by a Chris Rommell grand salami get the offense going for PP. Dugout Demons score a quick 2 runs of their own, with a Christian Wagner RBI double getting them on the board. Phinest don’t score in the top of the 2nd, and Demons get two more back thanks to four singles. The offense stops flowing after the 2nd for the Demons, as they fail to produce a run for the remainder of the game. Phinest puts up 5 in the top of the 5th, with a Ray ‘Go Kick’ Rocks three run bomb, and score two more in the top of the 7th off of sac flies. Philly’s Phinest win this one 13-4.

Player of the Game: Ray ‘Go Kick’ Rocks, Philly’s Phinest. Rocks went 2-3 with a single, 3 run HR, 5 RBI and 2 Rs in the win.



Dave and Confused vs. Dirt Stars

Dave and Confused plates 3 runs early in the top of the 1st, with three singles and a Kevin Noone double producing the offense. Dirt Stars fail to score in the bottom of the inning. DC goes down 1-2-3 in the top of the 2nd, and Dirt Stars score off of errors and a sac fly via Matt Greener. DC gets 2 more in the top of the 3rd, with four singles paving the way. Dirt Stars leave men stranded and fail to produce a run in the bottom. DC scores another via error in the 4th to take a 6-1 lead. Dirt Stars respond with a 9er, batting around in the process. Four singles, two doubles, two walks, and a grand slam by Shawn ‘Mac Daddy’ Mackley give Dirt Stars a 10-6 lead. DC narrows the gap, scoring 3 in the top of the 5th. Four singles and another Kevin Noone double brought them within 1. Dirt Stars go down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 5th, and DC scores 2 in the top of the 6th to take an 11-10 lead. Doubles by Jake Pederzani and Bryon McMackin paced DC’s offense. Dirt Stars go down swinging in the bottom of the 6th, unable to score again. DC can’t muster a run in the top of the 7th, and cling to a 1 run lead going into the bottom. After loading up the bases via singles and an error, a lineout and ground out end the game. Dave and Confused survives a close one, with an 11-10 win.

Player of the Game: Kevin Noone, Dave and Confused. ‘No one’ was someone in the win for DC, going a perfect 4-4 with two singles, two doubles, 4 RBIs, and 2 Rs.



Palz Tap House vs. Dirt Stars

Palz comes out firing with 5 runs in the top of the 1st. Two singles, a leadoff double by Jordan Cohen, and a triple by MVP candidate Tom Jacob kickstart the offense. Dirt Stars goose egg the bottom of the 1st. Palz sneak 1 by in the 2nd, courtesy of a Brian Goraham RBI single. Back-to-back-to-back-to-back singles get Dirt Stars 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. A solo HR by Jordan Cohen and a two RBI triple by Tom Jacob get Palz 3 more in the top of the 3rd. Dirt Stars go scoreless over the next four innings, sitting down 1-2-3 in 3 of the 4. Palz score 4 more for the rest of the game, with seven singles, a double, and a Louie Knoble 2 RBI triple doing the damage. Dirt Stars get a solo HR from Daulton Pickersgill in the bottom of the 7th, but it wouldn’t be enough. Palz Tap House wins this one with a 13-3 final.

Player of the Game: Tie between Jordan Cohen and Tom Jacob, Palz Tap House. Cohen was the straw that stirred the drink for Palz, hitting a leadoff double to start the game, en route to a 3-3 day at the plate ending a triple short of the cycle, 2 RBIs and 2 Rs. Tom Jacob went 3-3 as well, mashing two triples, knocking in 4 RBI and scoring 2 Rs.
