Game One: Cobra Kai @ Misfits
This game was explosive - each team scored 18 runs through the first 5 innings. The Kai and Misfits would run out of time and only play 6 innings. The Kai got homers from Donnie Squirtino and Ethan Shoemaker. They saw Tyler Gower cross the plate 4 times. The Misfits only had 8 players, but still pumped out the offense. Trevor Rice and Randy Helsman each scored 4 times. JB Jordan would clear the fence and Mo Rodriguez would crush 2. In the final inning, Gower and TJ Lillo would score for the Kai, grabbing a 20-18 lead. The Misfits would bring up Bobby Hartzell with 2 on and 0 outs. He’d tie the game on a double. Trevor Rice would walk it off - driving in Hartzell for the win, 21 - 20.

Player of the Game: Mo Rodriguez - The Misfits, 4 for 5, 2 HRs, 3 runs scored, 8 RBIs. Yes, 8 RBIs.

Game Two: Sons of Pitches @ Generals
Another exciting game. Generally speaking, scoring 18 runs gets you a win in slow-pitch. But not tonight, as they’d give up 19. The Generals posted 2 big scoring innings of 8 and 10, all in the first 2 innings. Dylan Patterson would score 3 times, as would Shawn Hines. SofP’s would get long balls from Keith Bauer and Tim Gluck. Jayden Hurrey would score 3 times. With the game tied, Ken Huber would drive in Bobby Hartzell for the win, 19 - 18.

Player of the Game: Rich Stead, Sons of Pitches, 3 for 3, SF, 3B, 2 runs scored, 3 RBIs.

Game Three: Moxon’s Cartel @ Cannoneers
Entering the 6th inning, the Cannoneers led 8-4. The lead was powered by homers by Shawn Hines, Dan Powell, and Jake Engleman. In the top of the 6th, Johnny Moxon’s dugout rally speech would push the team to post 12 more runs. Jim McGugan would double and triple in the inning. Kyle Rizzi hit a 3-run bomb and Ed Colgan hit a solo shot. The Cannoneers would drive in 2 more in the 7th, but the Cartel would see Kyle Rizzi go yard again - this time with the bases loaded. The Cartel wins 20 - 10.

Player of the Game: Kyle Rizzi - Moxon’s Cartel, 2 for 4, 2 runs scored, 8 RBIs, 2 HRs, 1 BB.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now, it's goodbye... until next week!
