Post by JP40 »

Game One: Cobra Kai @ Sons of Pitches
The Kai hits two solo homers in the first (Rob Tomkinson & Jake Haber). SofP’s answers with 7, 2 of which driven in by Nick Pigott’s 2-run single. But SofP’s offense would dry up after the first. The Kai would continue to rack up the runs. Haber would go yard again, this time a 3-run homer. Kai wins 14 - 9.

Player of the Game: Jake Haber - Cobra Kai, 5 for 6, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 4 runs scored.

Game Two: Cannoneers @ Dirty Dozen
The Cannoneers would see 5 balls go over the fence… but only the first 3 would count. Brian Wrigley would hit 2 and Shawn Hines the other. D12 would only see one power shot from their offense, and it came via the leadoff batter, Chris Hackney. Hack-Nado would also hit 2 singles and score 3 runs. But his back wouldn’t be strong enough to carry his squad and take down the Cannoneers. D12 goes down, 14 - 9.

Player of the Game: Brian Wrigley - Cannoneers, 4 for 4, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, 3 runs scored, 2B.

Game Three: Misfits @ Moxon’s Cartel
The Misfits struggled to string offense together against The Cartel. John Kiefer’s 2-run homer powered 2 of their 5 total runs on the night. The Cartel scored 2 runs in the 1st and 2 more in the 3rd. But in the 2nd inning, Moxon’s crew would post 16 runs. Homers from Jon Motts, Ed Colgan, and Frankie Fusca pushed across 9 of these runs. Abe Brooks and Joe Horchuck each would cross the plate 3 times. The Cartel wins 20 - 5 in 5 innings.

Player of the Game: Ed Colgan - Moxon’s Cartel, 2 for 4, 1 HR, 6 RBIs, 2 runs scored.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now, it's goodbye... until next week!
