Game One: Misfits @ Dirty Dozen
The Misfits post a solo homer from Matty Bookheimer to open the game. The ‘Fits wouldn’t score again until the 4th. The 5th would be a big inning as the Misfits would push 8 more runs across on a series of walks, singles, and a Mo Rodriguez double. In the 6th, John Kiefer, Dan Benner, JB Jordan, Jim Caldwell, and Trevor Rice would all score, helping grab 17 total runs on the night. D12’s night would be similar. Their big inning would happen in the 3rd. Kevin Carver and Arik Fenton would draw walks and score. John Aiken’s RBI double would be followed by Chris Hackney’s RBI double. Down the stretch, D12 would tie the game at 16, but Anthony Izzi’s RBI double would break the tie. D12 wins 18-16.

Player of the Game: Anthony Izzi - D12 - 4 for 5, 2 3Bs, 2B, 3 RBIs, 1 run scored.

Game Two: Moxon’s Cartel @ Cobra Kai
The Kai would post 5 hits… in the entire game. This would net them 0 total runs. Moxon’s Cartel would tally 15 through 4 innings, and force the flip-flop rule into effect. Ed Colgan homered twice, and Frankie Fusca would hit a 3-run dinger. Cartel cruises, 15-0.

Player of the Game: Ed Colgan - Moxon’s Cartel, 4 for 4, 2 HRs, 3 runs scored, 6 RBIs.

Game Three: Moxon’s Cartel @ Sons of Pitches
The Cartel followed up their shutout of the Kai with an impressive posting of 19 more runs. CJ Motts would hit 3 homers (1 for an out) and Kyle Rizzi would hit a 3-run homer. Frankie Fusca would score 4 times to lead the dogs. SofP’s tossed up 8 runs early but faded from there. Tim Frei scored twice and put one over the fence. Trevor Harris would score twice as well. But 3 scoreless innings would leave SofP’s well short. Cartel wins 19-10.

Player of the Game: CJ Motts - Moxon’s Cartel, 4 for 5, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, 3 runs scored.

Game Four: Generals @ Cannoneers
Generally speaking, when your first four batters of the game all get on base, and all score, winning the game should be promising… should. The Generals see Dylan Patterson, Scott Coleman, John Muiniz, and Chris Forester all cross the plate. Patterson and Coleman would score again later, as would Forester. The Cannoneers did Cannoneer things. They post a 12-run inning followed by an 11-run inning. Tony Casper would be perfect in the leadoff spot, 5 for 5. Wilson Miller would hit a grand slam. Brian Wrigley would homer, as would Mike Banes. Cannoneers light up the Generals, 27-7 in 4 innings.

Player of the Game: Wilson Miller, Cannoneers, 4 for 5, HR, 6 RBIs, 2B, 2 runs scored.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now, it's goodbye... until next week!
