Game #1 – Carroll’s vs. Muckdogs

Carrolls get going early batting around and putting up a whooping 12 runs in the first inning. Greg Lesher smacks a big two run homer to get it started followed by RBI singles from Allie Theis and Steve DiGiovanni. Lesher and Bill Ship had back to back two run doubles later in the inning to really put it on Muckdogs. Muckdogs do get three runs back on a three run bomb from Eric Schade as they look to fight back in this one. Bill Shipe matches that bomb with a bomb of his own, smashing a three run bomb and keeping their lead big. Muckdogs continue to fight getting five runs in the second and five runs in the third. Jeff Hess had a two run double and Schade added two more RBI doubles as he continues to swing a rocket bat in this one. Their bats would then dry up as they can only get one more run. Carroll’s will add some insurance runs later in the game and take this one. Carroll’s win 19-16.

Player of the Game:
Greg Lesher (Carroll’s) – 3/5, 2B, 2 HR’s, 6 RBI’s

Game #2 – The Maize vs. Wehrung’s

The Maize get started with three runs out of the gate, two of them coming from a two run bomb off the bat of Christian Hazlett. Aaron Worthington also added a sac fly in the top of the first. Wehrung’s get three runs back on a two run single from Cindy Snyder and an error as we stand pat after one inning. Wehrung’s will strike next with a big inning. Stpeh Hines and Luke Hendricks had RBI singles, while Ryan Hines, Adam Hendricks and Lowell Snyder all had RBI doubles. Bobby Snyder added an RBI triple in the inning as well. Both teams go quiet for a couple of innings before Wehrung’s add four more in the fifth. Snyder was back at it again with triples, this time a bases clearing triple. Maize will add some late runs, but that is all they would get in this one as they fall. Wehrung’s win 16-8.

Player of the Game:
Bobby Snyder (Wehrung’s) – 3/3, 2 3B’s, 4 RBI’s

Game #3 – Jive Turkeys vs. The Maize

Cam Komonchak gets this game rolling with a solo bomb deep into the woods, as his team go nuts, a first for sure. Turkeys will add three more runs on a couple singles and a Maggie Wonder sac fly. Maize gets three of those runs back on a Gary Kleinschmidt two run double and RBI single from Will Dos. Jive Turkeys get back to scoring in the second, with a two run single from Komonchak and RBI single from Ricky Henning. The Maize gets four runs back over the next couple of innings thanks to a Tom Eggito RBI single and Christian Hazlett RBI single. The Maize will pull ahead in the fourth when Aaron Worthington smacks a bases clearing double followed by an RBI single from Hazlett. This was short lived as Jive Turkey doesn’t give into the pressure and musters up two runs in the seventh. Andrew Fantaskey had an RBI single and Henning a sac fly. Maize will step up in the bottom of the inning, but isn’t able to get any across and will fall. Turkeys win 12-11.
