This season's B Division championship series featured the 2 top seeds, #3 overall Eddies in the Outfield vs. #4 overall, Wu Tang Forever.Game 1:
As the visiting team in game 1, Wu Tang gets the first 3 batters on base and ends up scoring 4 in the 1st inning. Eddies answer in the bottom of the 1st with a 2-run blast from Brian Sauers. Wu Tang goes down quietly in the 2nd and 3rd, while Eddies take the lead in the 2nd. Wu Tang gets an RBI double from Chris Hackney in the 4th, and they'll take a 1-run lead. In the top of the 6th, Wu Tang blasts this game wide open and scores 7. Tom Koezler doubles, Jon Poore blasts a 3-run homer, and Jimmy Craig legs out an RBI double. Eddies put on a good show in the 6th and 7th, with solo homers from Mike Downey and Russ Laughlin, but it wasn't enough to overcome Wu Tang's big 6th. Wu Tang takes game 1, 14-8.
Now down 1 game, Eddies struggle to score in game 2. Finally, in the 6th inning, Dylan Gallager gets something going with a leadoff solo dinger. Mike Marnoch follows with a single and scores on Mark Smith's double. Meanwhile, Wu Tang also struggles to score early, despite Hackney doubling in the leadoff spot in the 1st inning. They finally get on the board in the 4th thanks to Jay Pane's 3 run blast. Wu Tang adds another 4 in the 5th, with Mike Koezler doubling. No one scores in the 7th, so this one ends with a Wu Tang 7-2 victory and championship tee shirt!
