Game One: Generals @ Cobra Kai
The Kai took control of this game early, tallying 8 runs through 3 innings. 2 were scored on a Jake Haber bomb and a Rob Thomkinson long ball. Teammate, Sam Plaugher, showed both of them up with a grand slam. This game would end in the 6th after 8 straight base hits, and 7 more runs tipped the scales for the mercy rule win. The Generals strung together 1 nice run in the 4th. Dylan Patterson, Chris Forster, Jon Fink, & Adam Gingerich all got base hits and would score a run. Too much Kai, they win 20-5.

Player of the Game: Jake Haber, Cobra Kai, 3 for 4, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 3 runs scored, 2B.

Game Two: Dirty Dozen @ Misfits
This low-scoring affair could not be settled in just 7 innings. After a scoreless first, D12 would post 2 after a Cody Nash walk, Anthony Izzi single, Kevin Carver RBI single, and a Vinny Anzideo RBI double. The ‘Fits answered with a scoreless 2nd. Over the course of the rest of the regulation innings, D12 would scratch out 4 more runs. Nash struck again, driving in Justin O’Brien. Joey Cook would double and score his 2nd run of the game. The ‘Fits got most of their production from the bottom half of the lineup. Tim Caldwell, Mike Shutt, COry Wambold, Trevor Rice, and Randy Helsman were responsible for all 5 runs. D12’s 2 runs in the 7th tied the game at 5, pushing this to extra innings. D12 struck first, driving in Anzideo on an Andrew Alexander sac fly. The ‘Fits got a single from Matt Bookheimer, driving in Caldwell to tie the game at 6. Mo Rodriguez’s RBI single ended the game and sent the Misfits back to the finals.

Player of the Game: Tim Caldwell, Misfits, 3 for 3, 2 runs scored.

Game Three: Cobra Kai @ Cannoneers
Cobra Kai’s 20 runs in the opener were dramatically needed in this one. Instead, they’d only produce 3 runs - 2 were scored by Tyler Gower. The reigning, defending, champions of the world would see their first 6 batters get on base and all score to open their half of the inning. Although the Cannoneers would win 15 - 3, there were no homers in this game. Wilson Miller went 3 for 3 with a triple, and Brian Wrigley walked twice with a double.

Player of the Game: Wilson Miller, Cannoneers, 3 for 3, 3B, 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now, it's goodbye... until next week!
