Post by Rider14 »

Game #1 – Muckdogs vs. Carroll’s

Carroll’s strike first with three runs in the first inning. Greg Lesher and Kevin Shinkunas had RBI singles while John Zeits had a sac fly. Muckdogs go down without a run in the first inning and both teams go down without a run in the second as both teams are flashing the leather in this championship series. The next action in this one will come in the fourth from a two run Sarah Yoos triple. Muckdogs finally get on the board in the sixth inning, getting a two run bomb off the bat of Jeff Kulp. It is a little too late for them in game one as they will fall in the first one. Carroll’s win 5-2.

Player of the Game:
Sarah Yoos (Carroll’s) – 2/3, 2B, 2 RBI’s

Game #2 – Carroll’s vs. Muckdogs

The second game is much different than the first game as both teams come out swinging hot. They must have just needed a warm up game. Bryan Bart had a two run double while Mike Shipe had a sac fly. Carroll’s get six more runs in the second thanks to a two run double from Greg Lesher and two run double from John Zeites. Mike Stacey added a two run triple later in the inning. It looks like Carroll’s are going to run away with this as they lead 10-0 after two innings. Muckdogs show some grit and start their comeback in the fourth. Three straight singles from Jeff Kulp, Eric Shade and Jeff Hess start the rally and it ends with a Bill two run single. Muckdogs will get a couple of runs back in the fifth and sixth which sets up the bottom of the seventh with Muckdogs trailing by 5. Their season on the line, Eric Shade brings this game to within one. The next batter, Jeff Hess, plays hero and hits a walk off two run single as they will steal this game late.

Player of the Game:
Jeff Hess (Muckdogs) – 4/4, 2B, 4 RBI’s, walk off hit

Game #3 – Muckdogs vs. Carroll’s

The final game will decide the championship tonight and Muckdogs get started with a Jeff Kulp sac fly. Carroll’s tie the game in the bottom of the inning with RBI singles from Bryant Bart and John Zeits. Muckdogs will go back on top in the third inning getting a two run bomb from Kulp and two run double from Roger Ayala. Carroll’s take the lead back again in the bottom of the inning. Bill Shipe, Bart and Zeits and have RBI singles in the inning. Muckdogs get another three runs in the fourth on three straight RBI singles from Will M, Greg H and Roger A. Carroll’s come up big with a huge fifth inning scoring 10 tens in total. Steve D had a two run single, followed by RBI singles from Bart, Zeits, and Kelly Gallagher. Greg Lesher also had a bases clearing double. Carroll’s would hold on in this game, unlike in game 2 and they will win the championship!

Player of the Game:
Bryan Bart (Carroll’s) – 4/4, 4 RBI’s

Congrats to Carroll’s on the Fall Championship!
