Memorial Day 1-Pitch Tournament / Spring 2023 / Manager Tandems

League members interested in drafting and managing a 1-pitch team for the upcoming Memorial Day 1-Pitch Tournament (Sunday, May 28th, wood bat) should contact the league office ASAP. Managers will build their own team with help from league-supplied draft candidate statistics. Manager tandems must consist of a male and a female and will be accepted into the tournament on a first come, first served basis. The field will be limited to 8 teams. Two managing tandems will receive auto-invites from the 2022 Labor Day 1-Pitch tourney-- Katie Cherba (fe)/Chris Hackney and Jason Pane/Tess Frelich. If you would like to throw your hat into the managerial 1-pitch ring, now would be a good time to do so.

As of now we have 5 managing tandems willing to draft a 1-pitch team. That is not a good sign. After all is said and done, the number of teams in the tournament will match the number of managing tandems that sign up. At this point we will have a total of 5 teams. That means only 65 of the normal 104 draft candidates will be able to enter the tournament. So, if you care to draft and manage a 1-pitch team, now would be a good time to let me know. Otherwise, it may very well be you on the outside of the tournament looking in.

Nice to see league members stepping up. Rhiannon Keppley/TBD, John Erb/TBD, and Lauren Wood/ Garry Thompson are all willing to manage. If either wants to bail in favor of Justin Mill/TBD, feel free to do so. Just let me know.

Each manager tandem has sent in a 3-digit number. This 3-digit number will be used in a lottery to determine tournament team numbers, draft order, and first round match-ups. The managing tandem with the 3-digit number that is closest to the PA Pick 3 number (plus/minus) will be Team #1. Using each of the remaining manager tandem's 3-digit numbers, we will move in ascending order from the winning number to determine the balance of the team numbers. 000 will follow 999.
