Week 10: Quarry Playoffs 5/31/23

Did We Win at Wu-Tang Forever
Did We Win starts with 1 in the first on a Pete Mastapietro single and errors. Wu-Tang, in normal fashion, seals the deal in the bottom scoring 14 runs. Doubles by TK (2), Mr. Porter, and Greta highlight the inning. Both teams go in order in the second. DWW gets another run in the third on a single and error. Wu answers with a TK 3-run bomb and Jimmy Craig triple leading to 7 more. Did We Win can only manage 1 more single and decide to end this one by bringing in "Wild Thing" and walking this one to a mercy. Bold strategy cotton.

Red Stallion at Wackers
Second playoff game of the night is a battle of good defenses, or bad offenses? Maybe both? Red Stallion goes down in order in the first. A Bookheimer triple leads to 1 for the Wackers in the bottom half. Both teams scoreless in the second and third innings. Stallion finally gets 2 in the fourth on back to back to back singles. Wackers answer right back with 3 of their own on a Nonny RBI triple and Tess 2-run homerun. Stallion stays quiet in the fifth and the Wackers add another 2 thanks to a Freeman RBI triple. Stallion gets going in the sixth and tie the game up with 4 runs on singles and a Tom Jacob 2-run double. Wackers strand a Nonny double and the game stays tied. To the seventh, Stallion gets 1 on singles and a Brett Broderick RBI double. Final chance for the Wackers but they strand a runner and lose this tight battle.

Tap Daddy's at Gabagools
Third and final game of the night is the best once again. Tap Daddy's go down in order to start. Gabagools get 1 started by a Eddie Milisits triple. Tap gets going with 3 in the second on singles. Gools get 1 again in the bottom on singles. Tap extends their lead with 2 in the third on singles and an error. Gabagools quiet. To the fourth, Tap Daddy's get 4 on singles and doubles by John Gambone and Dean Keniff. The Gools wake up and tie this one up scoring 7 runs on singles and a 3-run homerun from Jake Steinberg. Top 5, Tap gets 1 on singles. Gabagools answer with 4 more on walks, singles, and a Ajay Houston double. Tap ties it right back with 3 in the sixth on singles and a walk. Gools retake the lead with 1 in the bottom on singles. Down by 1, Tap can't get anything going after a lead-off single and lose this fight.
