The B Division Summer Championship features the top seeded MuckDogs vs. the 2nd seeded Doc's Irish Pub
Game 1:
Neither team scores in the 1st, but then Doc's take a 6 run lead in the 1st. Dylan Brooks leads off with a homer, and Joe Giampietro doubles. Muckdogs answer back in the bottom of the 2nd with 2 runs, with back-to-back doubles from Rick Smith and Mark Danouski. Doc's score 2 more in the 3rd. Brooks leads off with a homer again. MuckDogs get a couple on in the 3rd but strand them. In the 4th, AJ Bagushinski triples and scores for Docs. Muckdogs answer back with 3 in the 4th. Ryan Hamilton and Tony Cabot both double. Docs' widens their lead to 12-5 in the top of the 5th by scoring 3 more. Muckdogs cut it to a 3 run lead in the bottom of the 5th by scoring 4. Ryan Hamilton blasts a 3 run shot over the fence. No one scores in the 6th, but Doc's add 2 insurance runs in the top of the 7th on Brian Mogel's 2 run double. Muckdogs get 1 across in the bottom of the 7th on Evan Gryzmkowski's RBI double, but it's not enough. Doc's takes game 1, 14-10.
Game 2:
Looking to even to series, Muckdogs get a leadoff double from Evan Gryzmkowski and score 4. Docs can't get anything going in the 1st or 2nd while Muckdogs geta triple from Gryzmkowski and score 2 more in the 2nd. Muckdogs add 1 more in the top of the 3rd, taking a 7-0 lead. Docs get on the board in the bottom of the 3rd, with Brian Mogel and AJ Bagunshinski both doubling. Despite Muckdogs getting another double from Gryzmkowsi, they can't score in the 4th. Doc's tightens the game with 3 in the bottom of the 4th. Joe Stankovics doubles. Muckdogs blow the game wide open in the 5th by scoring 7. Eric Schade blasts a 2 run homer. They'll add another in the 6th after Hamilton doubles and scores. Doc's needs 13 to tie and 14 to win in the bottom of the 7th. They get a couple, with Chase Luxton doubling, but it's not enough. Muckdogs take game 2 15-5, and we're going to the rubber match!
Game 3 (the rubber match):
Doc's go down in order in the 1st while Muckdogs threaten but can't score either. In the top of the 2nd, Docs score 2 with homers from Dylan Brooks and a triple from Joe Stankovics. Muckdogs answer back with 3 in the 2nd, taking the lead. Rick Smith blasts a 3-run homer over the fence. Docs takes the lead back in the top of the 3rd with Josh Keszczyk doubling and Chase Luxton homering. Muckdogs retake the lead with 3 in the bottom of the 3rd. The teeter-totter tilts back to Docs in the top of the 4th when Denny Lord takes a 1 run lead for Docs with a 2-run homer. Muckdogs destroy the teeter-tooter for good in the 4th where they bat around and score 9. Ryan Hamilton homers and Mark Danouski doubles. Docs get 1 run in the 5th and none in the 6th, while Muckdogs adds 2 in the 6th. Score is 17-8 going into the 7th inning. Needing 9 to force a bottom of the 7th, Docs get the 1st 5 men on and score 4. Their bats will then cool down and Muckdogs get the final outs and win game 3, 17-12.
