B EAST Week 8 8/13

Swingers V Webb Gems
Swingers come out in impressive fashion ready to play and amass 14 runs on 11 hits in the top of the first. Brian Close goes 2-2 with a double and single, Zack Nikander goes 2-2 with a single and 2 RBI’s, and knocks in two of his own on an RBI double. Webb Gems is able to get two back in the bottom of the first with an RBI double from Anthony Izzi and sac fly from Arik Fenton. Swingers picks right back up in the 2nd with another RBI double from Matt Close and Brian Close each, adding three runs in the inning. Webb Gems is unable to score, getting only 1 single from Mike Towey in the inning. Swingers adds two more on a two run home run from Nick McKlay before Webb Gems manages just a single again in the bottom of the third. Swingers add 4 more in the fourth, with RBI doubles from Collin Kelly and Brian Close. They shut down Webb Gems again, with 2 K’s in the inning, and this one ends in 4.

Felix’s Fellas V Webb Gems
Felix’s Fellas jumps out in the first with a 2 run HR from Angel Alicea and RBI single from Chip Margiotta I the top of the first. Webb Gems isn’t able to muster anything in the bottom of the first, getting only a single and walk. Felix’s Fellas adds one with an RBI single from Brian Blogren and extend their lead. In the bottom of the second Webb Gems finally wake up and get three with a two rbi single from Eric Wrenn and RBI single from Ryan Legeckas. Felix’s Fellas add a solo home run from Angel Alicea before Webb Gems gets one of their own when Arik Fenton scores. Webb Gems holds Felix’s Fellas scoreless for the first time and then post 5 runs with back to back triples from Mike Touey and Eric Wrenn and a 3 run home run from Anthony Izzi. Felix’s Fellas isn’t able to cross the plate the rest of the game and Webb Gems adds 6 in the 5th, with a 2 rbi double from Alex LaRosa and RBI singles from Andrew Alexander and Eric Wrenn. The add three more in the sixth, highlighted by a 2 run Home Run from Mike Touey and this one is never close.

Bye Week V Felix’s Fellas
Bye Week goes 1-2-3 before Felix’s Fella’s are able to score 3 with a sac fly from David Roriguez and 2 rbi single from Brian Copestick. Bye Week goes 1-2-3 in the second and Felix’s Fella’s adds 5 highlighted by a 3 run home run from Angel Alicia. Felix’s Fellas get 3 back with rbi singles from Jake Houk and Jared Ennis in the top of the third. Felix’s Fellas start pouring it on in the third, with a Home Run from Brian Copestick and rbi singles from Brian Blogren and Mike O’Malley. Bye Week gets one more on the top of the 5th off a solo Home Run from Jared Ennis. In the bottom of the 5th Felix’s Fellas adds 5 including 2 rbi single from Brian Blogren and Brian Copestick each. Bye Week gets one back after a fielders choice gets Dave Jenstch in after his triple but Felix’s Fellas ends it early with 2 runs in the 6th.

Bye Week V Wild Fire

Bye Week starts this one on fire, scoring 12 runs on only 6 hits, getting 6 walks as well. Wild Fire is able to get two back, but Bye Week keeps adding in the 2nd, with a 3 run home run from Vince Ceriale, rbi double from Kyle Stephens, and Sac Fly from Tom Orlando. Wild Fire isn’t able to add much the next few innings and Bye Week continues to add and ends this one early.

The Swingers V Holding Hands
Swingers starts the game off with 3 runs, with an RBI from Brian Hoover and Nick McClay. Holding Hands goes down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the first. Swingers add another 3 with an rbi sac fly from Matt Close, RBI single from Colin Kelly, and RBI triple from Brian Close. Holding Hands is shut down again getting just a single in the inning. Swingers add 4 more in the 3rd, with a 2 rbi double from Kevin Weintruat and rbi single from Lucas Burke and Colin Kelly. Holding Hands is unable to to cross the plate again and Swingers add 4 more with a two RBI double from Kevin Weintruat and rbi single from Lucas Burke and Colin Kelly. Holding Hands is left scoreless and The Swingers add 9 over the next two innings to end this early.

Holding Hands V Balls Deep
Holding hands, short handed and playing with 9, goes down 1-2-3 in the top of the first and Balls Deep jumps to a 3 run lead with a 3 run Home Run off the bat of Tim Frei. Holding Hands is able to come back in the top of the second with a 2 RBI single from Jimmy Cooker and a sac fly from Jason Hammer. Balls Deep adds 4 more, highlighted by a 2 RBI triple from Nick Carl and holds Holding Hands to a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the 3rd before adding three more in the bottom of the third. Holding Hands gets one back in the 4th, and then is able to get Balls Deep quickly in the bottom of the fourth to give themselves a chance. Holding hands musters 1 run again off an rbi single from Nick Ryan to make it 10-5 going into the bottom of the fifth and then they hold Balls Deep scoreless again. In the top of the sixth holding hands grabs one more off an rbi from Jimmu Cooker but Balls Deep is finally able to string something together and score three, two off of a 2 RBI double from Mike Gallo and one from a Ray Emhardt single. Holding Hands isn’t able to mount a comeback and falls short in this one.

Balls Deep V Philly’s Phinest
Balls Deep comes out hot in the first, scoring 4 runs with a two RBI single from Tim Frei and RBI from Mike Gallo. Philly’s Phinest musters one run on a sac fly before balls deep adds 3 more, with another 2 rbi hit, this time a double, from Tim Frei. Philly’s Phinest is able to cut into the lead in the bottom of the second, with a two rbi triple from Nick Trudel followed by an RBI single from Scott Vogelman. Balls Deep continues it’s scoring, with three more in the third from RBI singles and a sac fly. Philly’s Phinest can only answer with one in the bottom of the 3rd. Balls Deep scores 5 more in the 4th with 6 great at bats, a double from Trevor Harris, followed by a triple from Casey Condron, then a double from Tim Frei, a big walk from Nick Carl, and a single from Bob Stanley. The bottom of the 4th is quiet for Philly’s Phinest. In the tom of the fifth Balls Deep continues to score, adding three more. Philly’s phinest adds two with a two rbi single from Nick Trudel. Balls Deep continues to pour it on, scoring 4 runs over the next two innings and scoring in every inning in the game.
