Game 1: Darkhorse vs Doc's

Darkhorse came out swinging in the top of the 1st scoring six runs on seven hits including RBI doubles by Nick Mariana, Mike Suda and Dave Ketterlinus. Doc's answered back with four runs of their own including a 2 run RBI double by Ryan Black. Nick Mariana led off the second for Darkhorse with a triple and then scored on a sac fly by Mike Suda. Jim Walker's single and Pete Burns double paved the way for Darkhorse to score two more runs in the top of the second as they both came around to score. Doc's exploded in the bottom of the second inning scoring seven runs off 8 hits including two, two run RBI hits by Clay Snyder and Joe Giampietro to put Doc's ahead 11-9. Darkhorse regained the lead in the 3rd and would not give it back after scoring three with hits by Ryan Schock, Suda, Walker and Burns. Doc's failed to score in the 3rd,4th,5th and 6th innings while Darkhorse added three more in the fifth and six more in the sixth. Walker finished the day 5-5 as Darkhorse took down Doc's 22-12.


Game 2: Purple Cobras vs Wolf Pack

Purple Cobras got off to a slow start going down in order in the top of the 1st. Matt Horn had a leadoff single for Wolf Pack and scored on a Kris Karraba double giving the Wolf Pack a 1-0 lead, but unfortunately Karraba came off the bag at second base which ended the inning. Brandon Roman got the Purple Cobras going in the top of the second with a leadoff double. He would come around to score on a fielder's choice by CJ Brancato tying the game. Wolf Pack regained the lead in the bottom of the second after a leadoff double by Harry Horn and an RBI single by Adam Lorenz. Bill Brancato gave the Purple Cobras the lead in the top of the 3rd with a three-run homerun. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Wolf Pack pulled to within one after an RBI single by Karraba. Purple Cobras could not push any runs across in the 4th and 5th innings opening the door for the Wolf Pack to tie the game in the bottom of the 5th on an RBI triple by Kenny Goodwin. Both teams failed to score in the 6th setting up a crazy finish in the 7th. After being down to 2 outs after the first two batters, Purple Cobras were able to score two runs off RBI singles from Brandon and Jordan Roman. Dave Barth and Karabba started the rally for the Wolf Pack with two singles. With 2 outs, Goodwin scored Barth with an RBI single, but Karraba was hosed at third base from right field on the play ending the game and comeback. Purple Cobras outlast Wolf Pack 6-5.


Game 3: One Hit Wonders vs Purple Cobras

One Hit Wonders took advantage early of the Cobras playing back-to-back games scoring four runs in the top of 1st thanks to a two run RBI single by Andy Springer and a two-run single by Jack Stepnowski. Purple Cobras were able to get out of the inning with a 6-4-3 double play. Purple Cobras go down in order in the top of 1st and 2nd. One Hit Wonders failed to score in the 2nd and 3rd innings to keep it 4-0. Purple Cobras failed to capitalize in the bottom of the 3rd after a leadoff walk to CJ Brancato. One Hit Wonders added on to their lead in the top of the 4th inning with a 2-run home run by Jared Owens and an RBI single by Dan Cripps. Purple Cobras got on the scoreboard after Billy Brancato hit his second home run of the day making it 7-2 going into the 5th. Unfortunately, that would be the only runs of the game for the Purple Cobras and One Hit Wonders was able to add on some insurance in 5th and 7th innings with a Springer leadoff homer in the 5th and RBI singles by Tom O'Neill, Jason Hammer and Mike Harrington. Purple Cobras fall 11-2 to One Hit Wonders.


Game 4: Wire 2 Wire vs One Hit Wonders

In the top of 1st Wire 2 Wire goes down 1,2,3. One Hit Wonders puts the pressure on early with a Jesse Crasso leadoff single, but that is all they could do in the bottom of the first as the score remains 0-0. In the top of 2nd, Wire 2 Wire opens the scoring with a Tom Signore single followed by a two-run home run by Gene Walczak.One Hit Wonders quickly tried to answer with two singles by Rob Gisondi and Bill Groff in the bottom of the second, but Wire 2 Wire stranded them both, keeping them off the scoreboard. Wire 2 Wire added two more in the top of the 3rd on a two run RBI single by Derrick Aker. One Hit Wonders struggles continued as they could not get anything going in the 3rd or 4th innings. Wire 2 Wire's offense went cold in the 4th and 5th innings going down 1-2-3 in each. One Hit Wonders' bats came alive in the bottom of the 5th as they scored six runs on five hits including a two-run single by Crasso and a three-run homer by Jimmy Cooker. Down two runs going into the 6th, Walczak hit his second homer of the day to lead off the inning, but One Hit Wonders was able to stop the bleeding there, holding a one run lead. One Hit Wonders failed to extend their lead in the bottom of the 6th after a leadoff single by Stepnowski. In top of the 7th, needing one run or more to extend the game, Wire 2 Wire delivered after an Adrian Reyes leadoff double, followed by a Brett Anker single to move Reyes to third and a sac fly by Jacob McDevitt to tie the game at 6 all. One Hit Wonders had a chance to walk it off in the bottom of the 7th but could not get a runner into scoring position and we go to extras. In extras, Wire 2 Wire scored three runs including a two-run single by McDevitt. One Hit Wonders was able to push one across in the bottom of the 8th on a Groff RBI single, but it was not enough. Wire 2 Wire comes back and beats One Hit Wonders 9-7.
