Game #1 – Altek vs. Caroll’s

Altek get rolling early getting a solo bomb off the bat of Derek Smith. Brittany Lautenslager and Tony Luizza, later in the inning, knock in runs on RBI singles. Carroll’s will answer back in the bottom of the inning getting five runs of their own. John Zeits gets them rolling with a two run single. Allie Theis then matches that and more with a two run triple. Mike Stacey rounds out the inning with a sac fly as they lead by one. Carroll’s grab two more runs in the second with a two run double from Greg Lesher and RBI single from John Zeits. Neither team will score in the third, before we get to the fourth when Carroll’s add two more runs. Zeits and Thies are back at it, this time with a back to back RBI single. Altek really cool off from their big first inning and struggle down the stretch. Carroll’s will add one late insurance run as they will win this easy. Carroll’s win 12-4.

Game #2 – Muckdogs vs. Mean Machine

Muckdogs come out firing, which will be a common theme in this one. Jeff Hess gets them on the board first with a sac fly, followed by a Tyler Stone RBI single. They come back in the third with five more runs. Jamie Richards and Brett Anker have back to back RBI doubles, while Roger Ayala smashes a solo bomb. Mean Machine get on the board in the third, with a two run bomb from Pierre Girrin. Muckdogs will go right back to work and blow this game wide open. They will send 15 batters to the plate and score 11 total runs in the inning. Eric Schade knocks in two runs on a single while Bill Hamill, Tony Cabot, Jeff Hess and Corey Colby add runs on singles. Tyler Stone clears the bases with a triple. Muckdogs are too much for Mean Machine as they will flip flop and take this one. Muckdogs win 19-2.

Game #3 – Pancake Batters vs. The Maize

The last game of the night gets started with a big six run inning for Maize. Wil Das starts the scoring with a two run bomb, followed by a big bases clearing triple from Matt Burgenhagen. Maize will shut it down defensively and then get right back to it with the bats. Christian Hazlet smashes a three run bomb and then a batter later, Aaron Worthington smashes a solo shot. Pancake Batters will get on the board in the third, grabbing two runs on a Jimmy Weiyand two run bomb. Maize will match that and get back to their home run swing, grabbing another three run bomb from Hazlet as they put this game away. Maize wins 13-2.
