Game #1 – Mott-ley Crew vs. Pancake Batters

Ian Kacergis gets things rolling with an RBI single giving Crew an early 1-0 lead. Pancake batters whip up a batch and grab five runs in the bottom of the inning. Jimmy Weigers gets them rolling with a three run bomb, followed by an RBI single from Alex Brown. Crew get within two by getting two runs in the second off a double from Larissa Motts. But Pancake’s match and more again with another five runs. They get another three run bomb, this time from Pat Malloy as they lead 10-3 after two innings. Pancake’s number seems to be five tonight as they grab another five runs in the third. Weigers bat stays sizzling as he knocks in two runs on a double. Malloy also adds a run in the inning with a single. Crew grabs five runs across the fourth and fifth innings highlighted by a three run bomb off the bat of Brady Mengel. Jonathan Duchette also added an RBI on a single. Crew will grab three runs in the sixth as well, thanks to a Anthony Rapposelli RBI double and sac fly from Motts, but it would be too little too late as Pancake’s will take this one. Pancake Batter’s win 19-13.

Mike Pinelli knocks in two runs on a double as they take a 9-0 lead. Blue Devils finally get back to work and start hitting in the fifth. Gaby Rosato clears the bases with a double and Chuck Mastrangelo knocks in one with a single. That is where their runs would end tho, as they can’t generate any more runs. Mean Machine will add some late insurance runs and take it. Mean Machine win 14-5.

Both teams break out the defensive leather and don’t allow any runs across the second and third innings. Runs will grab the lead in the fourth. Runs will have another big inning in the fifth, getting five more runs. Jon Suchy gets on the board with a two run double and Amy Balash brings in two of her own on a triple. Derek Smith trys to fight and get Altek back into this game, but it is too little too late as Runs are too much in this one. Runs win 15-7.
