From The Gutter / Week 3

Post by sixofdiamonds »

Kingpin tops a shorthanded Ball-barians 5-2, but could not take G3 in spite of a 52-over 230 from Stephen Collins. Mike C’s 70-over 201 tipped the G3 scales in favor of Ball-barians.

While I haven’t heard anything official, it appears Two and a Half Men will no-show out the bowling year. I hope that is not the case. If it is, shame on the team. When your team faces them, you will need to bowl no less than 30 pins of your team average (10 pins per bowler) in order to take game points. Case in point… TBD could only take 5 of the 7 available from 2½ Men. They bowled a total of 407 pins in G2. The game total for 2½ Men was 411 (team average of 441 minus 30 pins). As a result, TBD lost the game 411-407 and did not earn points in G2.

Wu Tang flashes their championship form en route to a 7-0 shellacking of Bowls Deep. As a team they tossed 8 of 9 over average.

Empire puts the 7-0 kibosh on GFP as Brandon Roman hurls 3 pins shy of a 700 series. Bill Brancato’s 3 games over went for naught.

Laura Bart’s 3 games over paces Balls of Thunder to a 5-2 win over PPB. Paul Harvan’s 3 games over could only muster 2.

A solid team effort propels The Lost Boys to a 5-2 win over Gary’s World. Gary Thompson’s 224 saves the 2-pointer for GW.

The Nines awake from their slumber and slam the Pin Splitters 7-0. Jake Wade led the charge with 51 and 47-over games.

That’s How We Roll ekes out a 4-3 win over the Slackers on ho-hum bowling. Jarrett Kerns’ 3 games over saves G2 and total wood.

Both conferences are fairly tight at this point. There’s a lot of bowling left. With a couple of solid weeks, the bottom dwellers can make bold moves. The acronym teams (PPB, GFP, TBD) need to pick up their pace or they will be left in the dust. 2.5 Men could be a lost cause.
