Game 1: Dark Horse vs Pitch Please

Pitch Please jumped out to an early lead in the top of 1st scoring 3 runs on singles by Mike Oravitz, Jeff McMahon, Pete Donnelly and Kyle Lowery. Dark Horse remained scoreless after their first at bats leaving the score 3-0 Pitch Please after one. In the top of the second Pitch Please went down in order. Dark Horse took advantage and scored three runs on an RBI double by Pete Burns, an RBI sac fly by Jason Hudachek and an error to tie the game after two. Both offenses exploded in the third inning. Pitches Please scored 6 runs on a couple errors and RBI singles by Oravitz, Adam Schlang, Bill Larkin and Mike McLaverty. Dark Horse scored 4 runs on a two run RBI single by Paul Ferruzzi Jr, RBI double by Mike Suda and an RBI triple by David Ketterlinus. Pitches Please leads 9-7 after three. Pitches Please added two more runs in the top of the 4th on an RBI ingle by McMahon and an RBI double by Lowery. Dark Horse kept it close by adding a run of their own in the bottom of the 4th on an RBI single by Brandon Stingo to make it 11-8 Pitch Please after four. Pitch Please went cold in the top of 5th and didn’t plate any runs acrsoss. Dark Horse cut their deficit to two runs in the bottom of the 5th by scoring one run after a Jim Walker triple and an RBI fielder’s choice by Ferruzzi Jr. Pitch Please added some insurance runs in the top of the 6th inning scoring 4 runs on an RBI single by Oravitz, two run RBI double by Lowery and an error to give them a 15-9 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th. Dark Horse running out of time knew they needed a big inning and they delivered. Dark Horse opened the flood gates and scored eight runs on an RBI single by Bill Jones, RBI sac fly by Stingo, RBI single by Walker, a three run homerun by Ferruzzi Jr and a two run RBI double by Suda to give Dark Horse an 17-15 lead over Pitch Please after six. Pitch Please down to their final three outs and needing at least two runs to extend the game went down in order. Dark Horse steals one from Pitch Please 17-15.

Game 2: One Hit Wonders vs Doc’s Irish Pub

Doc’s Irish Pub controlled this contest from the start. Doc’s started off the game in the top of the 1st, scoring 9 runs as every player was able to reach base. Dylan Brooks, Matt Fronheiser, Paul Elliot, Joe Stankovics and Josh Keszcyzk all had RBI singles to fuel a big first inning. After a leadoff double by Dan Cripps, Jimmy Cooker hit an RBI sac fly to put One Hit Wonders on the board. Doc’s lead 9-1 after the first. Doc’s added another four runs in the second on another RBI single by Fronheiser, RBI fielder’s choice by Giampietro and a two run RBI single by Austin Kooker. One Hit Wonders would add four runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd on an error, an RBI sac fly by Sean Strauss and an RBI single by Cripps to make it 13-5 Doc’s after the 2nd. Doc’s continued scoring in the third adding 2 runs on a single by Elliot. One Hit Wonder’s Jack Stepnowski would add his own two run RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd. Doc’s kept a comfortable lead 15-7 after three. Doc’s would put the game out of reach in the top of the 4th scoring seven runs on RBI singles by Brett Keszcyzk, Fronheiser, and Elliot, an RBI double by Brooks and a couple bases loaded walks. One Hit Wonders would fail to score the next two innings and the game would end by run rule. Doc’s Irish Pub defeats One Hit Wonders 23-7.

Game 3: Purple Cobras vs Wire 2 Wire

Wire 2 Wire came out strong in the top of the 1st scoring 4 runs on a three-run homer by Tom Signore and an RBI single by Gene Walczak. Purple Cobras answered quickly with four runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st on a Ty Allen RBI single, RBI double by Zach Griffin and two RBI sac flies by Dan Roman and Andrew Coates to tie the score 4-4 after the 1st. Derek Acker hit an RBI single in the top of the 2nd as Wire 2 Wire regained the lead. The lead would not hold as Purple Cobras plated six runs in the bottom of the 2nd on a two run RBI single by Bill Brancato, another RBI single by Allen, RBI singles by Roman and Griffin and an RBI sac fly by Tom Friedman which gave Purple Cobras a 10-5 lead after the 2nd. Wire 2 Wire got one run back in the top of the 3rd after an error while Purple Cobras matched and scored their own run on another Allen RBI single to make the score 11-6 heading into the 4th. Acker would continue his great hitting day with a two-run homer to cut the deficit to three runs for Wire 2 Wire in the top of the 4th. Purple Cobras kept scoring in the bottom of the 4th and scored one run on an RBI fielder’s choice by Coates. 12-8 Purple Cobras after four. Wire 2 Wire and Purple Cobras would go down in order in the 5th to keep the score at 12-8. Wire 2 Wire kept fighting back and Jacob Mcdevitt hit an RBI single in the top of the 6th to close the gap back to three. Purple Cobras were just too much on offense as they scored four runs in the bottom of the 6th on RBI singles by Roman and Friedman, an RBI double by Coates and an RBI sac fly by Steve Gardener to open the game up as they lead 16-9 after six. Wire 2 Wire needed a bunch to keep the game going and put the pressure on by loading the bases in the top of the 7th. A bases loaded walk cut the Purple Cobras’ lead to six, but the Purple Cobras were able to escape the threat and secure the win. Purple Cobras wins 16-10 against Wire 2 Wire.

Game 4: Pitches Be Trippin vs Backyard Bombers
This game would be high scoring early on as both teams connected early. Backyard Bombers led off the game scoring four runs on two RBI singles by James Pello and Ryan Williams, an RBI sac fly by Jake Bohm and a run scored on an error. Pitches Be Trippin came back and scored five runs in the bottom of the 1st on RBI singles by Kris Karaba, Pat Deac and an RBI sac fly by Dave McCauley to give Pitches Be Trippin a 5-4 lead after one. Backyard Bombers would go scoreless their next two innings which proved to be costly down the line. Pitches Be Trippin opened the game up scoring a combined 9 runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings on a Will Sticks homer, RBI singles by Karaba, McCauley and Dan Kabonski, RBI triples by Karaba and CJ McCaffery and an RBI sac fly by Tim Graf to give them a 14-4 lead over Backyard Bombers after three. Backyard Bombers would get back on the scoreboard in the top of the 4th after a triple by Jack Jankowski and an RBI sac fly by Williams. A couple errors by Back yard Bombers in the bottom of the 4th would give Pitches Be Trippin their run back as they still would hold a 15-5 lead after the 4th. Backyard Bombers would cut the lead in half in the top of the 5th as they scored five runs on homers by Gabe McCaughn and Bohm. An RBI double by Paul Campell and a sac fly by Deac would extend the lead to seven runs for Pitches Be Trippin after five. Backyard Bombers added a run on Jed Fizzano’s RBI single in the top of the 6th to cut the deficit to six runs. Pitches Be Trippin added an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th after another RBI single by Karaba to give them a comfortable seven run lead heading into the 7th. Backyard Bombers would score one run in the top of the 7th on a Jankowski RBI single, but it would not be near enough as the next batter grounded into a fielder’s choice to end the game. Pitches Be Trippin’s offense propels them to an 18-12 win over Backyard Bombers.

Game 5: Dark Horse vs The Swingers

The Swingers would come out with an early lead scoring two runs in the top of the 1st on an RBI double by Ben Razzi and an RBI single by Dion Greene. Dark Horse would take the lead in the bottom of the 1st on a Paul Ferruzzi Jr. two run homerun and a two run RBI double by Pete Burns to make the score 4-2 Dark Horse after the 1st. The Swingers were scoreless in the second as they could not get anything going. Dark Horse would add another three runs in the bottom of the 2nd on a two run RBI triple by Ferruzzi Jr. and an RBI single by Nick Mariana to give Dark Horse a 7-2 lead after two. Both teams failed to do anything in the third as the score remained the same. The Swingers would have an inning in top of the 4th as they scored six runs on a two run RBI double by Brian Close, two run RBI single by Brian Hoover, an RBI sac fly by Matt Close and a run scored on an error as they took an 8-7 lead. Dark Horse would answer and tie the game in the bottom of the 4th scoring one run off another RBI hit by Ferruzzi Jr. Dark Horse kept The Swingers off the scoreboard in the top of the 5th and then regained the lead in the bottom of the inning, scoring five runs on a few walks and a two run RBI single by Mariana to give them a 13-8 lead after five. The Swingers would fail to score for the second inning in a row in the top of the 6th as they could not reduce the Dark Horse lead. Dark Horse went quiet in the bottom of the 6th which gave The Swingers a chance in the top of the seventh to make a comeback. After getting two quick outs, the Swingers took advantage of a couple errors and an RBI single by Razzi to pull within three. Dark Horse was able to escape and get the third out. Dark Horse wins a close one 13-10 over The Swingers.
