Game #1 – Carroll Jewelers vs. The Maize

Carroll’s will get rolling in the first inning with four runs on a sac fly from Brian Sauers, RBI double from Bill Shipe and two run single from Kevin Shinkunas. Maize will respond right back with four runs of their own on an Austin Grasso RBI double, Aaron Worthing RBI single and Will Das RBI single. Sarah Yoos give Carroll’s the lead with a double in the second. But Sam Altmiller will score on an Austin Grasso double to tie this game up in the third. Maize will take their first lead in the fourth on back-to-back RBI singles from Das and Will Marsden. That would be short lived as Carroll’s grab six runs in the fifth. Kevin Shinkunas had an RBI double, but the big shot was delivered by Sauers who smashed a grand slam. Mazie will get into the homer party getting two homers from Grasso and Aaron Worthington. But Carroll’s continue to hit as they score another four over the course of the last two innings, which would be the difference. Yoos added another run on a triple while Hallie Bilkner added a run on a double. Carroll’s win 14-10.

Player of the Game:
Brian Sauers (Carroll’s) - 1/2, BB, HR, 5 RBI’s

Game #2 – Quality vs. The Runs

Erik Cusano will get this game rolling in the first with a three run bomb which gives Runs an early 3-1 lead after Phil McKusker for Quality nets a run on a single. Quality will take the lead in the third with three runs on an RBI triple from Mason Ebersole, and RBI single from Dan McCusker. They would increase their lead to 11-3 after a six run fourth. Phil McCusker and Dan McCusker each went yard and had three run bombs in the inning, a big McKusker party. Back come runs though, as they put up seven runs in the bottom of the fourth, a very long inning. Kyle Exner and Rebecca Brennen had RBI single, while Maddie Leatherbarrow knocked in another on a double. We head to the last inning where Quality adds some much needed insurance runs on another homer by Phil McKusker and RBI single from Terry Ebersole as they lead 14-10 heading into the bottom half of the inning. Nick Perricone knocks in a run on a double and then scores on a Jason Exner RBI single. Matt Kovaleski knocks in a run on a double to bring this game to within a run. Cusano will call game as he smashes the ball over the fence as Runs will win in walk off fashion.

Game #3 – Sillies vs. Sandlot Legends

We get rolling for the final game of the night with Sandlot taking an early 1-0 lead on a sac fly from Scott Gerhart. Sandlot gets two more on RBI singles from Natalia Jahlokov and Mike Pinelli making this a 3-0 game. Sillies get on the board and take a one run lead in the third, with RBI singles from Steph Watkins, Mike Liddy, Josh Owens and Justin Glennon. Sandlot comes right back to score five and take the lead right back. Gerhart knocks in two on a double, then Karen K knocks in one on a triple and finally Mike Van Fossen knocks in a run on a double. This is where Sillies would take control of the game and go off, scoring 18 runs over the next three innings. The entire team got into the action, but this was highlighted by a Geroge Slawter solo bomb, two run single from Andrew Werkheiser, two run single from Steph Watkins and then RBI singles from the entirety of the team.
