Game 1: Purple Cobras vs Pitch Please
Purple Cobras got off to a hot start in the 1st scoring 8 runs on an RBI double by Mike Corrigan, RBI single by Dan Roman and a handful of runs by walk. Pitch Please went down 1,2,3 to give Purple Cobras an 8-0 lead after one. Pitch Please was able to scratch a run in the 2nd and 3rd innings on RBI singles by Bill Larkin and Mike Sheridan to cut their deficit to 8-2. Purple Cobras added 5 more runs in the 3rd on a two-run single by Cody Runner, RBI single by Brandon Roman and RBI doubles by Steve Gardner and Corrigan to extend the lead for Purple Cobras to 13-2. Purple Cobras would add four more in the 4th with a bases clearing triple by Runner to make the score 17-2 and put Pitch Please in danger of being run ruled. Pitch Please was not able to score in the 5th and the game ended by run rule. Purple Cobras wins big over Pitch Please 17-2.
Game 2: Doc’s Irish Pub vs Pitch Please
Pitch Please was looking to turn things around in their second game of a doubleheader against Doc’s. Doc’s did not waste anytime and put Pitch Please behind as they were able to score two runs on fielder’s choice and error. Pitch Please would answer with three runs in the first on an RBI double by Adam Schulang and RBI single by Ray Brittingham to give Pitch Please a 3-2 lead. Doc’s would have a big 2nd inning as they were able to score 9 runs on RBI doubles by Austin Kooker and Paul Elliot, RBI singles by Kyle Bud, Dylan Brooks and Brett Keszczyk to go up 11-3. Pitch Please scored two more runs in the 3rd on an RBI double by Ray Brittingham to trim Doc’s lead to 11-5. Doc’s would take over the rest of the way as Kyle Bud hit a two-run homer in the 3rd, Paul Elliot a three-run homer in the 4th, two run RBI triple by Dylan Brooks in the 5th and an RBI single by Sam Matus to put Doc’s up 20-5 and possibly another run rule for Pitch Please. Pitch Please was not able to score in the bottom of the 5th and would end the game there. Doc’s hitting comes to life as they take down Pitch Please 20-5.
Game 3: One Hit Wonders vs Doc’s Irish Pub
Doc’s would get first at bats in this contest and they started where they left off last game scoring 6 runs in the 1st on RBI singles by AJ Bagushinki, Chip Margiotta and Joe Giampietro. One Hit Wonders answered with four runs on a couple sac flies and a two-run RBI triple by Mike Trivino as Doc’s led 6-4 after one. Doc’s would add three more runs in the 2nd on an RBI double by Kyle Bud and a two-run RBI single by Bagushinski. One Hit Wonders added three runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd on a two-run RBI single by Bill Groff and an RBI single by Andy Springer to keep the score close as Doc’s led 9-7 after two. The game would turn in the 3rd as Doc’s bats went cold. One Hit Wonders would score 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd on an RBI double by Jesse Grasso and an RBI single by Groff as One Hit Wonders would take the lead 13-9 after three. Jesse Grasso hit a solo homer for One Hit Wonders to extend their lead to 14-9 after the fifth. Doc’s would get the bats going again in the 6th as they scored two runs on an RBI double by Austin Kooker and an RBI single by Paul Elliot. One Hit Wonders would add some insurance in the bottom of the 6th, scoring three runs on a two-run RBI double by Jack Stepnowski and RBI single by Jared Owens as One Hit Wonders led 17-11 and Doc’s down to their final three outs. Doc’s was able to get a couple runners on in the 7th but could not manage to push any across as One Hit Wonders would secure the final out and the win. One Hit Wonders wins 17-11 over Doc’s Irish Pub.
Game 4: Pitches Be Trippin vs Stiff Sox
Stiff Sox put up 5 runs in their first at bats on RBI singles by Nick Purshock, Chris Sanchez, Riley Denton, Tyler Fornwalt and Tommy Gallagher to take an early lead. Pitches Be Trippin was able to score one run in the bottom of the 1st on a sac fly as Stiff Sox led 5-1 after one. Brian DeLucas hit a three-run homer for Stiff Sox in the top of the 2nd to extend their lead. Pitches Be Trippin's Kevin Levonian would hit his own homer as Stiff Sox still led 8-2 after two. In the bottom of the 3rd, Pitches Be Trippin would score four runs on a two-run RBI triple by Kris Karaba and a two-run homer by Brendan McCoy to cut the deficit to 8-6 after three. Stiff Sox went cold and in the bottom of the 4th, Pitches Be Trippin would score 8 runs on an RBI single by Matt Horn, two-run RBI double by Karaba, two-run RBI single by McCoy and a three-run homer by Levonian as Pitches Be Trippin took a 14-8 lead after four. Stiff Sox would add one run on an RBI single by Gallagher in the top of the 5th, but that would be the last run they would score for the game. Pitches Be Trippin continued to pull away in the 5th and 6th as they scored a combined 8 runs on RBI singles by Dave McCauley, Dan Kalonoski, Harry Horn, Karaba, McCoy, and Paul Abendroth to go on to win 22-9 over Stiff Sox.
Game 5: Dark Horse vs Pitches Be Trippin
Pitches Be Trippin got off to a slow start and did not score the first two innings. Dark Horse was able to plate 5 runs in the first two innings on a two-run homer by Nick Mariana and RBI singles by Bill Jones and Paul Ferruzzi to take a 5-0 lead after two. Matt Horn would hit an RBI double in the top of the 3rd for Pitches Be Trippin to get them on the board. Dark Horse kept their foot on the gas as they scored three more runs in the 3rd on another homer by Mariana and an RBI double by Alex Tornetta as they extended their lead to 8-1 after three. Kevin Levonian would add another run for Pitches Be Trippin in the top of the 4th on an RBI single, but they were going to need a lot more to catch Dark Horse. Dark Horse would add two more runs in the bottom of the 4th on a homer by Feruzzi to make the score 10-2 Dark Horse going into the 5th. Dark Horse would add an insurance run in the 5th on an RBI sac fly to make it 11-2. Pitches Be Trippin scratched one run across in the top of the 6th on an RBI sac fly as they now trailed 11-3. Jordan Moffett would hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 6th for Dark Horse to go back up nine runs with only three outs to go for Pitches Be Trippin. An RBI fielder's choice and a three-run homer by Brendan McCoy would make the game interesting in the 7th as Pitches Be Trippin got to within 5 runs, but with two outs, the next batter lined out and ended the game. Pitches Be Trippin late comeback comes up short as Dark Horse wins 12-7 over Pitches Be Trippin.
