Game #1 – The Maize vs. The Runs

The Runs come out strong with four runs right out of the gate. Matt Kovaleski and Rebecca Brennan both knock in runs on doubles, which is followed up by a Matt Murphy RBI double. Runs will keep it rolling in the second with another Kovaleski RBI double and then a Kyle Exner three run bomb to make this a 10-0 game. More things are the same in the third, as they push four more across, three coming from a three run homer from Kovaleski. This game will be all Runs as they win this one early 16-1. Bobby Ridenour finished out the game with a walk off two run bomb.

Game #2 – The Runs vs. Wehrung’s

Runs run right out of their last game and into this one with four runs in the top of the first. Kyle Exner kept his big swing going with another homer, this time a two run. Ridenour also added a run on a double. Ridenour will add two more runs on a double in the second inning to make this a 6-0 game. Wehrung’s will finally get on the board with a run in the bottom of the second. Kyle Hendricks hits a solo homer. Wehrung’s will get two more in the third, on some walks and errors. We head into the fifth will the same score, before Erik Cusano goes yard making it a 7-3 game. Rebecca Brennan gets Runs to the eight runs after an RBI single, which takes us to the bottom of the seventh. Wehrung’s will get two runs on a Luke Hendricks bomb, but they will fall just short. Runs win 8-6, capping off two big wins on the night.

Game #3 – Dirty Balls vs. Carroll’s

We head to the last game of the night, which is also the game of the night. Dirty Balls strike first with a three run bomb off the bat of Nick Pigott. But Carroll’s will respond in the bottom of the inning with a sac fly from Bryan Bart and RBI double from Bill Shipe. Carroll’s will have a big inning in the third with seven runs. Sarah Yoos smashes a two run bomb, while Brian Sauer clears the bases with a big grand salami. Both teams will score three in the third, with Greg Lesher of Carroll’s hitting a three run homer, a big trend in the game from both teams. Dirty Balls grab eight runs in the fifth to tie this game up as Bob Stanley brings in two on a double and Jason Dickerson brings in one on a double. Seven innings isn’t enough in this one as we will need extras to decide this game. Both teams score eight runs in the eighth.
