Titans vs Throwdown

Game 1:

The Titans throw a 4 spot on the board in the top of the 1st inning while Throwdown would do nothing. The Titans added another 3 in the 3rd while continuing to hold Throwdown off the board. It wasn't until the Titans had added another in the 4th, taking an 8 run lead, that Throwdown decided to get things going. They scored 9 run in the 4th taking a 1 run lead. A bunch of singles with the help of some doubles by Bryan Peterman and Wayne Horger Jr. lead the way to the big inning. They would relinquish the lead the very next inning as the Titans brought 3 runs across. They'd grab the lead right back in the bottom of the 5th with 3 runs of their own. That would be the end of Throwdown's scoring in this game however as the Titans kept it rolling to the tune of 5 more runs before the final out was recorded. Titans take game one by a score of 16-12.

Game 2:

Throwdown started this game quicker than the last as a Jon Poore 2-run dinger opened the scoring in the top of the 1st. The Titans would get one of their own before the end of the first. Titans then held Throwdown without a run in the second before adding another to tie the game. Throwdown then exploded starting in the 3rd where they scored 3 runs. They then added 7 in the 4th, 5 in the 5th and 6th and then another 8 in the 7th. During that span 10 of the 13 hitters in the lineup had at least 1 extra-base hit. Truly an amazing offensive showing on their way to 30 runs! The 10 runs that the Titans scored were not nearly enough. Game 2 goes to Throwdown as they tied up the series.

Game 3:

To say that the offenses went cold in game 3 would be an understatement. The teams only combined for 16 runs in the deciding game of the spring championship. The Titans did their scoring early as they plated 7 runs in the first 3 innings which included a Jason Brown 3-run tater in the 3rd. Throwdown only scored 1 run in that same span but added another run in the 4th. We entered the 5th with a 7-2 lead for Titans where they added 2 very important insurance runs before shutting the offense down for the rest of the game. After Throwdown scored 1 in the 6th they entered the final inning trailing by 6 runs. Tom Kolezer's 2-run blast trimed the deficit to 4 before even recording an out. THey scored another 2 runs before getting down to their final out. With the game winning run at the plate the game hung in the balance. A line out to 3rd would end the game and the series. The Titans would be crowned spring coed champs on this night. Game 3 final: 9-7 Titans
