From The Gutter / Week 13

Post by sixofdiamonds » Fri Mar 06, 2020 8:29 pm

That’s How We Roll takes East title with a 5-2 win over Split or Swallow. Little Lebowski Urban Achievers came up just a little short by failing to beat (cover) the no-show Split Happens in Game 1.

Split Heads take care of business in the West with a 7-0 sweep of the no-show Dookie Brewsters.

Wu-Tang Forever survived a last-minute push by The Incredibowls to capture the South.

Finger Poppin and Bowl Movement finish dead even in the North. The 2 teams will battle it out in a 1 game roll-off at 7:30 pm, just before Week 14 begins. Winner will move to the post season.

As a result of some poor bowling attendance this year, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place regular season money has decreased ever so slightly from last year. Prize money is as follows…

1st place - $500.00
2nd place - $300.00
3rd place - $150.00
4th place - $90.00

Weeks 14 and 15 are playoff weeks for the 4 conference leaders. They are also tournament weeks for everyone else (including the playoff teams). The tournaments are separate from one another. You can enter one and not the other or you can enter both. Regular full roster teams can enter. Subs can be used to build a team. The sub MUST have bowled in our league as a sub this year, or, be a regular roster member from another team in our league. Teams cannot 'switch' players. At least 1 player from the team must be a regular roster player of that team. You are welcome to bowl against a team of your choosing as long as they are willing to bowl against you.

Everyone pays the regular bowling fee of $12.00 (copy/paste error from an old post) $13.00 for the 3 games PLUS an additional $5.00 per person for the tournament entry fee. The league will kick in an additional $225.00 to the prize fund for each tournament ($150.00 for 1st and $75.00 for 2nd). To enter the tournament, place a $15.00 team fee into an envelope supplied by Joe DeSousa. Be sure to give it to Joe on lanes 11/12 BEFORE the start of bowling.

If all 26 teams enter the tournament, the winner will take home first place money calculated for each tournament as follows...
# of bowlers times $3.50 plus $150.00. With 26 teams that amounts to $423.00.

The runner-up prize money is calculated for each tournament as follows...
# of bowlers times $1.50 plus $75.00. With 26 teams, that amounts to $192.00.

The winner will be the team that scores the highest total pins plus handicap for the 3 games. The runner-up will be the 2nd highest total pins plus handicap for the 3 games. Handicaps from Week 11 will be used to keep the sandbaggers at bay. While you will be bowling with another team, you will not be bowling against that team.

It's a lot of fun. The more, the merrier.

Tournament - As stated, the more the merrier. Three bowlers are required to enter. If you find yourself a bowler short, you can use a sub who's bowled this season, either as a sub or a member of another team. You'll be provided a separate envelope for the tournament entry fee. Kindly include your team name and the names of each bowler to ensure the proper handicap is entered. Please record your scores and submit to me when you're done.
