Game 1: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Ballz Deep

First game of the night; Mike’s Bar and Grill gets a quick triple from Corey Eyerman and then scored on Brad Misalick’s single. Garrette Koehler drove in a run in the 2nd inning, Dave Shannon singled home Matt McReynolds who tripled in the 3rd while Eric Rosenblum and Bobby Jagadich drove in the 4th and 5th runs for the team. Those five runs were the only runs the offense could produce.

Ballz Deep, also got going quick in the 1st inning. Jim Chapman drew a walk and scored on John Erb’s 2-run shot. Back-to-back doubles by Jim Chapman and Erb led to another 2 runs in the 2nd inning. BD then exploded for 12 runs in the 4th inning thanks to fielding miscues extending the inning and 2-run homers from Sean Butrica and Alex Freeman. At this point the game was blown open 4 more runs scored in the 5th and 6th inning generated the mercy rule. Ballz Deep easy victors, 20-5.

Game 2: HG Coal Fire Pizza v. Team Horsham

The Pizza guys got going quick in the first inning after Matt Messisa got on base with a single and scored on Andrew Parker’s triple. Brendan Parker then reached base on a fielders choice and in the process scoring Andrew. Brett drew a walk in the 3rd and later scored on Andrew’s second hit of the night. Pizza guys scored just 3 for the game and against a revamped Horsham offense…will not be a good outcome.

As previously said, the revamped Horsham offense seems to be for real. Jarrett Predergast out of the lead-off spot had 3 hits and scored 4 times. His three hits included 2 doubles and 3 rbi. His stat line alone was enough to win the game. Brett Saverio doubled three times, Eric Lane doubled home 2 runs in the 2nd inning, and the bottom 5 of the line-up scored a total of 7 times. Horsham produced 21 runs also generating the mercy rule and winning easily, 21-3.

Game 3: Dingers v. Philly Junk

Dingers came into the game must of knowing the task they had in hand. Beating a team like Philly Junk would require a good solid performance on both sides of the inning. They got to work early as been the trend all night. Mike Casbar doubled home a run while Connor O’Keefe and Rich Schmidt both drove in runs also. Four runs in the 1st frame is a good start. Mike Casbar continued his good night with a double in the 3rd and a 2-run shot in the 4th inning. Dave Iatarola went 3-4 while scoring twice. Dingers had 11 runs through 6 innings.

Dingers did their job defensively as they needed to. But they slowed down Philly Junk as they are gonna get theirs. Mike Bitterlich smashed a 3-run homer in the first inning and then drove in another run in the 3rd. Facing a 10-4 deficit entering the 4th inning…they strung together a small rally. KC Ingram started it with a single, Mike Testa doubled home 2 and Brandon Bozek single home 1 cutting the deficit to 1. At this point Dingers had taken a 2-run lead and then the offense blew it open. Brett Anker doubled home a run in the 6th inning and once KC then smashed a 2-run homer later in the inning, Philly had taken a 17-11 lead which they would not squander in the 7th. Good game overall, Philly came out on top.

Game 4: Vertex v. Beers

Vertex as could always be expected got good production from majority of it’s line up. But the top 5, were fantastic. A combined 20-26 on the night. Wow! Mat Crowell with 4 hits (2 doubles), Zach Martin with 3 hits (4 R scored), CJ Snyder with 2 hits (2 R Scored), Matt Schaub with 5 hits (HR and 5R scored) and Keith Crowell with 5 hits (a HR short of cycle and 6 RBI – 5R scored). This same group scored 21 of the team’s 25 runs scored.

Beers exploded out of the box in the first inning pushing 7 runs across highlighted by 3 consecutive rbi-producing hits. Ryan Calabro highlighted the inning with a 2-run single. Ryan Maley was a HR short of the cycle as well, scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Richie Acieno with the solo bomb in the 5th. Beers exploded early for 7…scored 9 the rest of the way and still lost the game by 9. Not a bad day by Beers, but simply a better offensive showing by Vertex. Beers lost, 25-16.
