Post by latincontrol »

Now half way through the season, the Tuesday night slate keeps pushing along with Beers and Dookie Brewsters remaining atop the standings with a blemish in the loss column.

Game One: Philly Junk v. Team Horsham

This one turned out to be quite the slugfest. Eric Lane with an rbi triple and run scored in the 1st while Brian Meeachern triple home a run himself in the 2nd. Eric doubled home 2 more in the 4th and Luke Gelhaus scored the 15th and final run in the 6th.
Horsham scored 15, Philly did better. Brandon Birkhead with the first of this 2 homers in the game (both 3-run shots) in the 1st and 2nd innings. Ryan Russell cleared the bags with a triple and while KC Ingram and Mike Bitterlich both also homered. KC with a 3-run bomb in the 3rd – Mike with 2 of his own; 3rd inning 2-run shot and 5th inning 3-run shot. Philly scored 25 and won by 10.

Game Two: Wire 2 Wire v. HG Coal Fire Pizza

W2W looked to get going and they did. Joe DIMazza with a 4-4 game as well as Greg Guarino. In the 5th they pushed across 11 men with Jim Chapman driving in 2 with a single.
The Pizza guys must have been hungry as they had no energy evident with an anemic 6 scattered runs on 9 hits. W2W easy victors, 24-9.

Game Three: King’s Corner v. Beers

A shorthanded King’s crew looked to hand Beers their first L of the season but did not go so well. John Erb was up to the task with a 4-4 night which was a HR short of the cycle and Russell Miller had 3 hits in 4 AB’s. They pushed 10 across but gave up more than that.
The Beers’ big inning came in the 6th when they put the game away with 7 runs in the frame on 7 hits. The two big AB’s in the inning were Connor MacFarlane’s 2-run homer and Ryan Maley 2-run Sac Fly. Beers went on to score 19 and remain undefeated on the season.

Game Four: Dingers v. Mike’s Bar & Grill

Dingers got offensive production from Eric Poppike in the first with a 2-run single, an rbi double by Jake McCall in the 3rd, Mike Casbar rbi single in the 5th and Pete Auteri driving in one with a sac fly in the 7th. Jake Zharsky and Connor O’Keefe both scored 3 times helping Dingers plate 16.
Mike’s tried to keep pace as Joe Talanco drove in 2 with a single in the 4th and Corey Eyerman tripled home a run in the 7th. Kyle Saba scored 3 times and Garrette Koehler finished with 2 rbi. Mike’s scored 11 and lose the game by 5.
