Statistical Curiosity

A statistical curiosity has occurred that I don't think I've ever seen before. Going into yesterday's Wednesday Evening Coed games, I realized that if the team with the better record won each game, the standings would work out exactly from top to bottom 8-0, 7-1, 6-2, 5-3, 4-4, 3-5, 2-6, 1-7, 0-8.
Checking the scores this morning, it looks like everything happened as expected, so here we have the final regular season standings:
For an 8-game season, such a distribution of wins and losses can only happen in a league with 9 teams. We had 9 teams this spring, and it happened!
As Les has pointed out, we don't have to worry about tiebreakers!
