Week 2 - June 22nd

Game One: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Dingers

Errors by both teams made for some sloppy play on the night’s opening game. Mike’s also had the advantage of drawing multiple walks to help them score 7 in the 2nd inning and 5 in the 4th. Corey Eyerman took advantage with a 4-4 performance which included 2 runs scored and an rbi.
Dingers benefited from a multiple Mike errors in the first inning which set up Mike Casbar to smash a 3-run homer in a 5-run first inning. Pete Auteri singled in a 2-run 3rd and Eric Popkee drove in another run in the 5th. Dingers put 10 on the board but still fell short by 3.

Game Two: Team Horsham v. HG Coal Fire Pizza

Team Horsham exploded offensively. Brett Saverio had a 2-run homer and Matt Galasso drove in 2 with a single in just the first inning alone where the team scored 8. Zach Prendergast doubled home 2 runs in the 3rd and the team went nuts in the 7th inning pushing 13 runs across in that inning alone. Mike Bobrin had two doubles in the inning to go along with 3 runs driven in, and Benji Abercombi singled home 2 more.
HG was silent early on until the 4th when Matt Franheiser singled home 2 runs and Mike Marcelline doubled home 2 more. Andrew Parker then singled home 2 in the 5th to being the run total to 8…but that would be it. HG took a beat down and lose by 20.

Game Three: Dookie Brewster v. Philly Junk

Philly got it going early with a 6-run opening frame. Shane Hanna with the rbi double and Ryan Russell came through with a 2-run single. Mike Bitterlich homered in the 2nd and Brandon Birkhead added two bombs of his own in the 5th and 6th innings. Brandon had 5 ribbies in those two blasts. KC wasn’t left off the HR board as he added his own 2-run shot in the 6th.
Philly put up 16, but Dookie did more. Jon Poore and Tom Koelzer with the back-to-back bombs in the first inning; Tom who latered homered again in the 7th. Axel Alicea added a solo bomb of his own in the 5th and Zach Martin with the impressive stat line going 4-4 with a HR short of the cycle…all from the lead off spot. Zach finished with 3 runs scored and 5 rbi. Dookie plated 22 men and defeated Philly by 6.

Game Four: Beers v. Wire 2 Wire

Not much defense to speak of in this one as the teams combined to commit 8 errors.
For Beers’ boys, Scott Runzer tripled home a run in the first while the team managed to plate 7 in the 2nd. Errors were a big part but a 2-run double by Ryan Calabro and rbi double by Rich Acierno certainly helped. Ryan Maley got going late in the game with a 2-run double in the 5th and a 3-run home run in the 6th. He finished with 5 rbi.
W2W drove in 2 runs in the first and in the third the team blasted three long balls. Back-2-back homers by Chris Morgan and Tom Signore started the inning and Bill walker added a 3-run shot later. Chris drove in 2 more runs with a 5th inning single as Bill added a double helping the team rally for 9 runs. Unfortunately, the rally fell just short and W2W lost 20-18.
