Game 1: Alliance Hauling vs. First Stars
Alliance Hauling started the scoring in the top of the first with Greg Gallagher leading off with a double and Matt Gallagher driving him in with a triple. Dirt Stars respond with patience, drawing a pair of walks and poking three singles to plate four and take the lead in the bottom of the frame. In the top of the third, four singles and a sac fly scored three for Alliance, giving them the lead again. Dirt Stars pull right back out in front in the bottom of the third with a handful of base knocks and with Jef Sywulak ripping a two-run triple. A Will Schultz triple in the top of the fourth helps claw two runs back for Alliance. John Boyle highlighted the bottom of the fourth as he launched a solo bomb to help Dirt Stars plate a pair. Alliance Hauling tied the game at 9 apiece in the top of the fifth thanks in large part to a two-run dinger off the bat of Mike Gould. Then in the top of the sixth, they reestablished a one run lead thanks to a pair of singles and a pair of walks. In the bottom of the sixth, two walks, four singles, and a couple fielder’s choices ended up totaling five runs for Dirt Stars. Suddenly down four in the top of the seventh, Alliance Hauling goes down 1-2-3 to wrap up the game. Dirt Stars outgun Alliance Hauling in a back and forth thriller, winning 14-9.

Man of the Match: Jeff Sywulak (2-3, 3B, 3 RBI)

Game 2: Dirt Stars vs. Ball Busters
Dirt Stars jumped out to a two run lead in the opening frame thanks to a rare two-run sac fly from Myles Davis. Ball Busters come out swinging in the bottom of the first, plating five thanks to Mike Marcelline smacking a two-run triple and Andrew Parker launching a three run bomb. In the top of the second, Dan Curran led off with a double and scored to keep Dirt Stars moving forward. Not to be outdone, Ball Busters batted around and scored a whopping 11 runs during a hitting clinic that featured doubles from Tyler Cohen, Brendan Parker, and Matt Messina plus a triple from Brendan Parker. This woke up Dirt Stars in the top of the third as they started the inning with six straight singles and followed with a sac fly and Dan Curran’s two-run double to plate a respectable six runs. In the bottom of the frame, Jay Stein led off by slapping a triple and scored Ball Busters’ lone run on a sac fly. At this point, both teams grew bored of scoring and while there was defense on display, neither had another player cross the dish. Ball Busters defeat Dirt Stars 17-9.

Man of the Match: Brendan Parker (3-3, 2 R, BB, 2B, 3B, 2 RBI)

Game 3: Palz Tap House vs. Ball Busters
Andrew Parker and Justin Knapp each collected an RBI in the bottom of the first for Ball Busters on a triple and a double, respectively. In the bottom of the third, Ball Busters doubled their lead from a couple singles and a sac fly. Palz finally got on the board in the top of the fourth as Pete Herbert drove in one run on a double. In the bottom of the frame, Eric Cohen ripped a triple to start off a three run inning for Ball Busters. Nick Park’s leadoff triple in the top of the fifth allowed him to score a lone run for Palz. Ball Busters kept rolling in the bottom of the fifth, with a walk ,five singles, and a double;e off the bat of Tyler Cohen to put five more runs on the board. In the top of the sixth, Alex Freeman doubled and scored what would end up being the final run for Palz. Ball Busters beat up on Palz Tap House with a 12-9 victory.

Man of the Match: Andrew Parker (3-3, R, SF, 3B, 2 RBI)

Game 3: Dave & Confused vs. Saints and Sinners
Dave & Confused (although they were Daveless on this particular occasion) drew first blood in the top of the first, plating a pair driven in on a Bryon McMackin base knock. In the top of the second, they extended their lead with a four run frame on a walk, four singles, and a sac fly. Another sac fly in the top of the third tacked yet one more unanswered run onto the lead for Dave & Confused. In the bottom of the third, Saints and Sinners finally woke up as they smacked nine singles, got a sac fly, and saw a Jimmy Lewis double on their way to eight runs and a slim lead. They match the same output in the bottom of the fourth, this time they got doubles from Josh Frazier and Harrison Gorton, a triple from Jimmy Lewis, and a two run dinger from Chris Donnelly. In the top of the fifth, Dave & Confused came storming back as they batted around with a two run double from Bryon McMackin and a two run triple from Mark McKinney as they plate six, slashing their deficit to three. Three singles and a fielder’s choice gets a pair of runs back for Saints and Sinners in the bottom of the frame. In their final turn at the dish, Dave & Confused manage to get John Hickman in after his double, but it would not be enough to avoid a loss. Saints and Sinners fend off Dave & Confused, securing an 18-14 win.

Man of the Match: Jimmy Lewis (3-3, 2 R, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI)

Game 4: Dave & Confused vs Sunday Scaries
Mark McKinney opens the scoring in this one in the top of the first by slapping an RBI double. In the top of the second, a walk, two singles, and a sac fly helped score two more for (the still Daveless) Dave & Confused. Sunday Scaries appeared on the scoresheet in the bottom of the frame, utilizing six singles on their way to four runs and a slim lead. In the top of the third, Mark McKinney smacks a double to help Dave & Confused score three runs, reestablishing their lead. Sunday Scaries reclaim their slim lead on the bottom of the fourth, taking advantage of an error, a couple fielder’s choices, and four singles, tallying three. A one-out sac fly for Dave & Confused in the top of the fifth tied the game at seven. Josh Persling ripped an RBI triple in the bottom of the fifth, once again claiming a lead for Sunday Scaries. In their next turn, Sunday Scaries got a two run homer off the bat of Kris Karaba to increase their lead. In the top of the seventh, Dave & Confused managed to load the bases with a pair of two out walks, but ultimately failed to score. Sunday Scaries manage to defeat Dave & Confused 10-7.
