We have our first all-star/eddie rule violation for 2022.

It was brought to my attention a Sunday Coed game (The No Shows vs. Alaskan Bullworms) might have been played with a team in violation of the newly revised a/e rule.

The No Shows
All-Stars: Jaden Newman, Jesse Faller, Christian Vogler, Bob Worthington, and Derek Strowhouer
Female Eddies: Olivia Byrne, Tiffany Hartman, and Hailee Strobler

The No Shows did in fact played the game vs. Alaskan Bullworms in violation of the a/e rule which requires any team with 5 or more all-stars to have in the line-up an equal number of eddies, the majority of which must be female. The No Shows did play 5 all-stars and 5 eddies, but only 3 of the eddies were female. This is in direct violation of the a/e rule which carries the following penalty: A coed team found to be in default of the all-star/eddie rule at any point before the team's next game, that team will forfeit the game in which the infraction occurred.

The No Shows game vs. Alaskan Bullworms will turn from a win to a loss. The Alaskan Bullworms loss will turn from a loss to a win. All player stats from the game will stand as is.

The pitcher/manager of Philly's Phinest (Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 2-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 05/22/22 as a result of a physical altercation.

League rule:
If an ejection is the result of a physical altercation, not less than a 2-game suspension shall be served. A 2nd ejection of this nature during any calendar year will result in no less than a league ban of the player/players for the remainder of the current season, (all leagues), plus the following two seasons.

Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds UNLESS the game umpire has no issue AND the suspended player does not cause any problems.

Ryan McAvey (manager Lucky Dog, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory league suspension of 2 games for using a non-roster player under the name of a roster player in a game on 05/15/22.

Mike Mahan (Spartans, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 05/22/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. An additional 2-game suspension has been issued for blatant disrespect toward the game umpire. This 3-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Chris Rocks (Philly's Phinest, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 06/05/22 for throwing his bat. This 1-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Derrick Myers (Sunday Men's, Van Fossen's Vikings) has been issued a mandatory 2-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 06/21/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct and putting his hands on another player (physical altercation). A 2nd ejection as a result of a physical altercation will earn Mr. Myers a 1-year ban from the league.

League rules are quite clear when it comes to nonsense like this.

Arik Fenton (Sunday Men's, Web Gems) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 06/19/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Brendan Parker (Master Blasters, Thursday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 06/23/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. This 1-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Justin Perloff (Web Gems, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 07/03/22 for throwing his bat. This 1-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

A league member has brought to my attention the possibility that Tuesday Men's Dookie Brewster played with an 8 all-star line-up in the game vs. Team Horsham on July 5th. I, along with league statistician Bill Markward, reviewed the current all-star list and it appears the team did play the game with the 8 all-stars listed below. This would be in direct violation of the league’s all-star cap rule.

ALL-STAR CAP (MENS): Not more than 7 all-stars are permitted in a men’s league batting line-up at any given time. If at any point before the team’s next game, by any member of SBA, a team is found to have used more than 7 all-stars in a line-up at a given time, that team will forfeit the game in which the infraction occurred.

Dookie Brewster's game vs. Team Horsham will turn from a win to a loss. The Team Horsham loss will turn from a loss to a win. All player stats from the game will stand as is.

Walter Truxell (Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 07/10/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. An additional 1-game suspension has been issued for blatant disrespect toward the game umpire. This 2-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Joe Carpino (Dirt Stars, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 07/17/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. This 1-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Matt Jacobson (Birds of War, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 07/24/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. This 1-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

David Kretchman (Swinger, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 08/07/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. This 1-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Dom Anzideo (Gabagools, Wednesday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 09/21/22 for throwing his bat. This 1-game suspension is effective immediately. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Mike Culbreath (Tap Daddy's Wednesday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 10/12/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. This 1-game suspension will be served at the start of the Spring 2023 season. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Mike Fischer (Cobra Kai, Friday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 10/14/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. This 1-game suspension will be served at the start of the Spring 2023 season. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.

Andrew Parker (Ball Busters, Sunday Men's) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 10/16/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. Phil McCusker (Monday Coed, Quality Landscaping) has been issued a mandatory 1-game suspension as a result of a game ejection on 10/26/22 for unsportsmanlike conduct. An additional 1-game suspension has been issued for blatant disrespect toward the game umpire. This 2-game suspension will be served at the start of the Spring 2023 season. Suspended players are prohibited from attending the game or being on the ball field grounds.
