Championship Edition

Game One: Cobra Kai @ American Legion
The visiting Kai kicked off inning 1 with 2 runs (Matty Poust & Mike Fischer). Jeremy Figueroa would later walk in the 3rd and score, and Steve Reed would score on a two run homer by Fischer in the 6th. Five runs wasn’t enough as AL smoked the Kai, 21-5. Brian Wrigley would bang 2 long balls, and Shawn Hines would hit one of his own. Two monster innings of 8 runs each, helped AL bury the Kai.

Player of the Game: Brian Wrigley, AL, 4/5 - 2 homers, 3 runs scored, 7 RBIs, 1 triple.

Game Two: American Legion @ Cobra Kai
After taking one on the chin, the Kai responded in game two with much more run production. The game would open with the visiting Legion getting one run on a Hines solo. The Kai responded in the bottom of the inning with a series of walks, singles, and doubles. Netting 6 runs in the process - 2 of which were driven in by Tyler Gower. Over the next two innings, the Kai would add 8 more runs, totally 14 thus far. 3 of these runs would come the way of a Kake Haber long ball. In the same span, AL would post 6, totally 7 through the third inning. Entering the 5th, the score held 14-7… and then the lead would disappear. AL would score 7, tying the game courtesy of two 2-run homers (Hines and Powell). AL would go down 1, 2, 3 in the 7th. Tyler Gower would lead off the bottom of the 7th with a solo walk off. The Kai gets the win, 15-14.

Player of the Game: Jake Haber, Cobra Kai, 3/4 - 2 HRs, 7 RBIs, 1 double, 3 runs scored.

Game Three: Cobra Kai @ American Legion
It was a long night, which certainly affected the offense in game three. The Kai reverted back to their game one ways, scoring only 4 total runs. AL struggled too, but with Engelman & Hines each going yard, AL posted 8 and took the series. Legion defeats Cobra Kai, 8-4.

Player of the Game: Jake Engleman, AL, 2/3 - HR, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now it's goodbye... until next week!
