Post by Rider14 »

Game #1 – Wehrung’s vs. Rock N Rebel

This championship gets rolling with a Cheyanne Guinan RBI single. Wehrung’s continue this with a Bill Saxton and Eric Senderling RBI single followed by a Luke Hendricks grand slam. At inning’s end, Wehrung’s lead by seven. Rebel respond with five runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Mark McCouch Sr had an RBI triple while Ed Reynolds, Mark McCouch Jr and Sam Nagle had RBI singles. Wehrung’s keep their scoring up in the second and third innings as they continue to smash homers. Wyatt Schilling had a two run bomb while Dave Nagel had a three run bomb. Wehrung’s lead 13-6 after three innings. Rebel starts to fight back with their own onslaught of homers, getting a two run bomb from Erik Stalford and Stefano Giuliani in the fourth as they cut into the deficit. Stalford was back at it again in the sixth with a three bomb to cut to within two runs. Wehrung’s get a couple of insurance runs in the seventh and will take this first game of the series. Wehrung’s win 17-13.

Player of the Game:
Dave Nagel (Wehrung’s) – 3/3, HR, 4 RBI’s

Game #2 – Rock N Rebel vs. Wehrung’s

Rebel gets going first in the second game as they look to push a game three. Mark McCouch Jr smashes a two run bomb while Emily Kline and Paul Hensler bring in a run on a single. Sam Nagle also had an RBI double in the inning. That is all the runs until the third when Kline is back at it, with an RBI single. Hensler also adds an RBI single giving them an 8-1 lead. Wehrung’s has gone ice cold from the plate as their third inning run is the only thing they can get going in the entire game. Rebel grabs three more runs in the fourth thanks to back to back RBI doubles from Stalford and Ed Reynolds. Rebel flashes the leather to finish the game and they will force a game 3 for the chip. Rebel wins 13-1.

Player of the Game:
Mark McCouch Jr. (Rebel) – 2/4, 2 HR’s, 4 RBI’s

Game #3 – Wehrung’s vs. Rock N Rebel

With the championship on the line, Ed Reynolds starts the scoring in this one, with an RBI single in the bottom of the first to give Rebel the 1-0 lead. Wehrung’s respond in the second with an RBI single from Alex Poniktera. A two run bomb off the bat of Wyatt Schilling gives Wehrung’s the lead in the third. This is shorted lived as Rebel responds with a two run homer of their own, off the bat of McCouch Jr. Homers continue to pace this game and this series as the Wehrung’s cleanup hitter Nagel, smashing a two run bomb into the woods to give Wehrung’s the lead again. They lead 5-3 after four innings of play. Both teams play solid defense as neither team can score in the fifth. McCouch Jr steps up again with another homer in this series to bring his team to within one run. We head to the fifth with everything on the line. Wehrung’s goes down without any runs and Rebel comes up to bat needing one to tie and two to win. Unfortunately for Rebel, they go down one, two, three and Wehrung’s will step up and win this series. Wehrung’s win 5-4.

Congrats to Wehrung's on winning the Fall Championship!
